I was Steve's neighbor up by Rose Hills as a tiny elementary school punk kid that would wash his van and cars along with my brother after a Roadium weekend. He would pay us by giving us a cardboard cassette box and letting us fill it up. He turned me into a music fiend. I couldn't wait for the next weekend. He taught me so much and would throw in his recommendations in my box.... Which included Hi-C and The mixed tapes. For a kid in that neighborhood there wasn't shit to do .But having a good supply of music probably saved me from setting shit on fire outta boredom. He was a mentor. It finally occurred to me that he is ultimately responsible for me djing for 23 years now. The inside of his garage door was plastered with record flats of all genres of music. I would point at an album and he would play it so I could hear what Metallica sounded like. And then that Vanity 6 album cover that tripped me out in a good way lol! I love the man and owe it to him for the love of playing musical instruments and being a vinyl collector of all genres from 78 rpm 1920's Delta Blues, Gospel, Punk Rock to underground and classic Hip-Hop... He taught me to open my mind to all musical types and just love what you love basically. Last weekend I felt like Tony Montana telling these young kids " You think your big time!? This shits gonna blow your mind!" played them some classics. D.O.C, SSCartel ,Breed, EPMD, BDP, Main Source, D Nice, Puba, P.Rock, Jedi Mind Tricks, MC Lyte, X-Clan, Family Tree, ect...For these young kids that are trying to produce generic repetitive mumble rap. This was like a U.F.O bumping some shit. They wanted to know and hear more artists. They all asked for a list and wanted to take pictures of my phones playlist. That was mostly Steve's doing haha. Hope all is well with Susan too. R.I.P forever Professor Yano... And if you can hear me, thank you for being there and looking out for my brother and I and being so generous with your kindness, patients and for showing us music in he best way. Eternal love and respect for you till death!... Your student Satoki.

A set of real Porsche Alloys in the early to mid 1980s would set you back about $600 w/tires which was a good chunk of change for a teenager with a Vdub. A couple years later around 1985, a set of Daytons was costing 4x that at about $2500. They were the holy grail of wheels at the time and it also wasn't hard to do the math why mofos immediately started getting "JACKED" for them "Dana Danes" .

*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ These are the dudes of my generation. I was a jheri curl dude too. Lol. What I dig most about this interview is how much time has passed and they didn't let the industry _politricks_ affect their frienship. _Hi C, K and Dee, Quik and AMG !_ I always say that they all should get together and put on a show and call it *The Class of '91 World Tour.* And let's not forget Suga Free ! Because between all of them, they have HITS ! Hits from their own albums as well as songs they've done together. I particularly would like to see them end the show performing 2nd II None's 'Got A Nu Woman'. To me, that's a great song to end the show with. If you've heard it, you know how it ends; "Thanks for coming out. God bless you. Good night". Cold ! Yo Tony ! You got a great thing going Big Homie. The LA influence in hip hop history definitely needs a home. And if you ask me, THIS IS IT ! The Joe Cooley interview, King Tee, Julio G, Big Hutch ! Good sh*t Big Bro. Keep 'em coming. We need folks like MC Ren, Dr. Dre, Quik, Cube, DJ Pooh, Deadly Threat, WC, Westcoast Kam, Mack 10, K. Dee, Xzibit, Theo from 92.3 the Beat, Kaydoe from Kausion. Just to name a few... 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾

Although I have the og Skanless vinyl (cassette, and that longbox CD), and b&w press photos 2:54:22 and 2:54:32, Ill be happy to add a signed copy of a vinyl repressing to my collection. Good s&^^. F&&^ Quik for not showing Roadium radio any support. His has been b^%% a&& couldve at least had Tony A call him like Tony called KK, AMG, and the Canadian dude. Thats why IDGAF about b^^% a&& Quik.
