Chai, a 25-year old man with a disabled arm with a dream to become a guitarist rockstar, arrives at Vandelay Technologies campus to volunteer for Project Armstrong, a test program for cybernetic limb replacement. However, when the company’s CEO, Kale Vandelay carelessly throws Chai's portable music player, it fell onto into the latter’s chest and fused with him during the embedment, causing him to feel a musical connection with his surroundings. As a result of the accident caused by Kale’s carelessness, Chai is labeled a defect and the facility's robotic security forces pursue him, seeking to "recall" the defect. Putting stock in IPs that have a good record of selling is good business practice typically. Heck, look at the halo franchise. Barring infinite just for the sake of argument, not a single halo game has been awful: all play well, have had decent multiplayer, and for the most part had good stories. That’s not to detract from crunch culture and other such atrocities that you’ll find in EA of blizzard, but game quality is never truly the issue.

This is the love child of early 2000s games that I never knew I wanted. A story reminiscent of Sly, platforming like Crash, an art style like Jet Set and a beat'em up like DMC. I never would have guessed it, but it's a match made in heaven.

Honestly, the more I watch these cutscenes (only like 2 hours in to this video), the more I love every little detail. Cinnamon wiping his face to change expressions, the multitude of Jojo references with the insane doctor, the little dumb bits of comedy or meta humour (like the "shoot you out of a cannon" bit, foreshadowing what comes next). They're not just dumb cutscenes, you can just feel that the writers and animators cooperated to give us the best and dumbest jokes they could find. I haven't played the game but, honestly, the cutscenes alone have made me add it to my watchlist. I don't mind the plot being spoiled, it actually helps me decide if I want the game or not, and this is SO on my "want" list.

It's amazing how far we've come since Toy Story. Now our games today look as beautiful as-if not better than-what made Pixar one of the best animated and emotional masterpieces of our time. Now, games like Hi-Fi Rush look and feel as well as it should. Kinda wish Nintendo Switch or PS5 has this game, but I think it may be only fair for X-Box to have some legends too. 👍👍 PS: I Ship Chai X Korsica!

This game is a masterpiece. Beautiful artwork and music, although they never really hyped up the release, which brought unironically more hype when people found out. This is like if Persona 5 Scramble met Rhythm Doctor. But, it would be pretty cool to see a custom mode where you can make your own levels. Nonetheless, this game is too cool to exist. 10/10

While it is never outright stated, I LOVE how obvious it is that Peppermint at the very least has a massive crush on Korsica, especially during the final cutscene. Even more, I appreciate how it was kept at least a little ambiguous because having ANY characters being openly romantically interested/involved would have been a poor fit with the tone of the game.
