I only discovered _Hi-Fi Rush_ a month ago and it's been a transformative experience. I can't remember the last time I fell so deeply in love with a game. I'm 40 and this made me feel like a teenager again. I work in a game studio (tools programmer) and have been ardently proselytizing _Hi-Fi Rush_ at the office. One of my colleagues (a level designer) was similarly moved, even stating that it re-ignited his passion for making games. It's unfortunate that _Hi-Fi Rush_ was overshadowed by other titles in 2023, but I hope that it will eventually get the recognition it deserves. In an age of bland bloated behemoths, _Hi-Fi Rush_ reminded us what a good game looks like.

To answer your question for the Special attacks… Because 808 is precious kitty. She is adorable and deserves all the love. Plus, funny quips from Mimosa, Roquefort, and Kale.

My overall thoughts on this game: We NEED more game like Hi-Fi Rush, honestly more than ever currently. We are currently living in a world where games are trying to imitate the smashing success that is The Last of Us. Nearly down to the letter. Extremely cutscene heavy, rather basic gameplay, and trying to be as crazy philosophical and political as possible. While some of these games are great, as I do enjoy some of them, it kind of has lead to a massive growth of pessimism and negativity in fictional media. When I saw that Hi-Fi Rush was being talked about and being loved by a ton of people, including some who are usually just into "Movie" video games, that to me, really lighted up my view on the gaming industry as a whole. Seeing a majority of people that I have never heard of absolutely loving this game despite how anti it is to the whole entirety of what most people play shows that a game does not need to be something crazy emotional or trying to change your life with nothing but dialogue, but by simply being fun, it can be enjoyed by the masses. I do not agree with the statement of developers not looking at Hi-Fi Rush for their games, I think the opposite. Devs should look at this and see that Video Games can just be fun, and nothing else. Let's go back to when video games could just be that...video games. Let's go back to when video games could just be a fun past time to enjoy. I do not think there is any problems with us actually going back in time with how we made games in the past, like the PS2 era of gaming. In a way, let us be in touch with our inner child, and just have fun. Hi-Fi Rush proves we can do that, and not be shunned for enjoying it. That is what gaming really needs right now.

2023 was literally one of the best years for gaming in recent years.

@@Leee275 The point isn't about quality, it's about tone and atmosphere. The modern gaming industry feels oversaturated with titles that are *_so concerned_* with tackling heavy, realistic themes & subject matter (determined to change your life and teach you how to do deal with real world problems) that we rarely get games that simply made to be FUN. That's what makes Hi-Fi so refreshing. It's simple, nostalgic, unbridled enjoyment that's more concerned with putting a smile on your face than it is trying to teach you some deep, philosophical lesson. Like most modern triple A top sellers. And I'm obviously not saying that those games are worse off for it, but more experiences like Hi-Fi could really be the kind of light that a lot of people need in their lives right now (amidst so much controversy and conflict in the world).

On the note of such games, the likes of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Soulstice, Blud, Cookie Cutter, No Straight Roads, Genokids, Immortal: And the Death that Follows, Loco Motive, The Mermaid Mask, Decline's Drops, Kraino Rebirth, My Familiar, Bad Boro, Ruffy and the Riverside, Promise Mascot Agency, The Dungeon Experience, Resistor and many more may be of service in supplying games that are good as games that want to be their *own* thing, not "like The Last of Us" and stuff. Be sure to look into them and spread word of 'em.

I can't be as colorful and lengthy with my language as I would like to be since KZbin removes the comment immediately if there's too much negativity. So just know that I'm just as pissed as many people are with the closing of Tango Gameworks. I'm so upset that other than one future video on Blue Dragon, I currently plan to not analyze any other Xbox games as a result of what they did. I know it doesn't mean pretty much anything in the grand scheme of things but it's my own personal way of acting against Xbox and Microsoft.

@@Mechassault_ManI respect your decision But me personally,I associate games with devs team, not their publisher necessarily ,so for me it's a little strange, but it's your right to boycott that way

I like how if you read CH-AS1R's model blurb in the model viewer it makes it even more evident that it was originally intended as a boss. also Kale's tongue in cheek "there's always next time" but that seems a bit depressing now in retrospect.....
