JS Arms supplied the awesome accessories for my carbine. Please check out their website at jsarmsco.com
I liked my Hi-Point .45 ACP carbine so much that I eventually bought two of their pistols. Hi-Point firearms are inexpensive, reliable and I highly recommend them for anyone on a tight budget.

Best customer service in the gun business. I bought a stripped down carbine at a pawn shop dirt cheap. I looked on their website for the parts I needed but didn't find what I was looking for. Called the company and the very nice rep I talked to took my list and had the parts shipped to me on their dime. I've never had that kind of experience with any other firearms company. Because of that one experience I'll be a fan for life.

Very impressive that Hi-Point made a gun so cheap. When Tom Deeb designed this gun, he truly cared about people on low income being able to defend themselves instead of profits. Today you could get much better guns for a little more money(PSA dagger, Taurus G3C, etc...) but remember these guns weren't around when the Hi-Point first came out. Anyways the Hi-Point will always be there and I'm glad Americans can exercise their 2nd Amendment right.

I agree. We gun guys dream about high end guns, but guns affordable to everyone are most important to freedom. That’s the reason, when Democrats invented gun control as Negro control after the Republicans freed their slaves, at least three Southern states outlawed cheap guns, knowing most free blacks couldn’t afford Colt’s or Smith & Wesson.

I have alot of respect for what high point does. I know a couple of single moms that would have been unarmed without a high point. Ive convinced one to get a g3c but she still has the high point at home. Both of theirs ran 100 % out of the box, but if you get one with issues, get another magazine. Name brand from high point . If you call them theyll look out and get you sqared away.. almost all non running highpoints ive encountered where fixed with a magazine change. The weak link in highpoints are those cheap mags. Some are bent and out of spec.

Dan.. What I find is that the more experienced shooters buy High Points. not because they are some sort of awesome firearm that will impress all their friends, However, it is a fun firearm to have because it is what it is, surprisingly accurate and reliable. it's nice to see there is still a company that produces low cost firearms that are well made and the company stands behind what the sell. (Btw,, The Son is getting really good with his sight alignment. He should turn out for Bullseye) I wish I bought a Carbine in .45. Good Video -

Very interesting! There was a long stretch of time when any Hi-Pont product was considered a "Jam-A-Matic" and "Dead Man Walking Pistol" status in Law Enforcement circles. Hi-Points even fell to the "overpriced door stop" level in the early 2000s. In a perverse kind of way, I'm glad to see Hi-Point has apparently solved the problems found in older production models and made their firearms trustworthy enough for lower income folks who otherwise would be left defenseless by other manufactures and their very expensive firearms.

For the money you gotta love a Hi-Point. I don't have any Hi-Point pistols but a couple of years ago I was introduced to Hi-Point carbines. After I bought a Hi-Point 10mm carbine, I liked it so much, especially for the price, that we bought another one for my son. One carbine is in a great looking Realtree Edge camo pattern and the other is black. The Realtree Edge came look is my favorite but they all look good and it really changes the look of the carbine altogether. There are aftermarket companies that make some great looking stock conversions for the Hi-Point carbines as well. That starts making them not so cheap anymore but a lot of people today are into accessorizing, etc., it's big thing nowadays. I prefer to save money for ammo or other things usually. The Hi-Point 10mm carbines have been fantastic. They are accurate, look great, shoot great and are priced great. The different camo pattern models were on sale for under $400 and the black version was in the low $300's, can't remember the exact price. One big outdoor super store actually had some Police Trade In 9mm & .40 S&W Hi-Point carbines with a vertical fore grip and 3 magazines for $250 a while back. They're still listed on the website but no are no longer available according to the site. There's a .30 Super Carry threaded version for just a hair over $300. These carbines are reliable, accurate and for whatever reason, they are just a ton of fun to shoot. The big disadvantage that people have been complaining about for years is the single stack magazines, other than that, they're awesome. Look at what most other 10mm carbines cost. Made in America, by Americans, so that any American that wants a firearm, can afford one.

There have been lots of posts recently from well-known KZbinrs with good things to say about the Hi-Point line. It's encouraging to see that you're part of that group. 👍 My only experience has been with the dual caliber 10mm/.40 pistol and carbine, and it has been positive, too. 😃

Great video. My friend Bob got two Hi-Point 9C several years ago when they first came out, because he heard you can fire +P ammo. He wanted a spare beater gun any was going to give one to his wife. Took them to the range and found out they were having a few jamming problems like you're .45 ACP did. Next day he went back to his point of sale person and they ship them to the factory for repair. Few days later he got a call from the actual repair department and the guy wanted to know what ammo. He confirmed that they are +P rated and usually the hotter the better. Bob was using a 147gr bullet. The repair guy told him to not use anything above of 124 grain. He said the heavier bullet was actually designed for a full size 5 in 9 mm such as a Beretta 92F and would short-cycle the slide of the 9C. He did Test fire and confirm that they were working correctly and sent them back. We used 115gr Federal ammo and it was deadly accurate and no more problems after that. He actually carried it as a spare firearm working security, behind his vest trauma plate. He did get one of the carbines too and loved it, firing a bunch of ammo through that thing. The first models were butt ugly and we called it to planet of the apes gun. It had open sights and was fairly accurate to 50yd, staying on a 9" pie plate, as long as we were capable of doing it. I can imagine if you actually put a scope on one of these it would probably be really accurate. Been thinking about getting a 9C as they work really well. We were shooting bullets at paper targets with them and then switch to cans. Bob was an old Vietnam and Gulf War Vet, and it was fun actually watching him skip the cans with that thing. Seriously he could put the can up in the air off the ground and keep it moving. I think the heavy slide actually lends to better accuracy, because it gets it right back on target quickly. I would say within thirty yards, it would be just as deadly as any pistol that cost upward of two grand.

Bought one the day I turned 21 back in 2006, only had 200 bucks. Put thousands of rounds through it with little cleaning, back when you could still buy that Perfecta Italian handgun ammo at walmart for 7 bucks a box. One day, it fell off a truck and cracked the slide. Called customer service, and they replaced it with no questions asked. Even though it was my fault. I ended up getting rid of it, probably one of the most regrettable trades I've done.

Well, what ive found is many people start out with a highpoint, then later on because of the highpoint introducing them to shooting, buy better guns and eventually sell or give the highpoint away to another new owner and the cycle starts again. So while you regret the decision, here's to hoping your high point got another new shooter into the fold.

Great follow up video about your Hi-Points. It's good to know how they still run after several years. They're not the prettiest guns, and they're big, and I've heard the trigger pull isn't wonderful, but reliability is the highest priority for me in a semi auto. Great video, Dan. I own quite a few firearms, some are expensive, most modestly expensive and a near handful of Hi-Points. I have both the 4095 45ACP & the 1095 10mm carbines, and the monstrously heavy JXP10 and -- I had to -- the latest iteration of the glorious Yeet Cannon, the YC9! What convinced me to try a Hi-Point was watching how well the Hi-Points held up to extreme abuse during a number of destructive torture tests (including plugged/obstructed barrels) by Matt over at Demo Ranch: I blame Matt for causing me to enter into the Hi-Point owner world... and I'm really glad I did! Yes, they are ugly and heavy (the handguns, carbines not so much) BUT they are accurate, simply constructed, durable and dependable, and CHEAP!

For me, I could probably talk myself past most of the issues, but the roll pin to disassemble it is unforgivable. Granted you can probably go 2000 rounds without cleaning it, but for me that's an unacceptable level of pain to not be able to do cleaning/lube or simple fixes without needing to deal with the roll pin. I'd pay 100$ more just to have take down levers. It's not that it's difficult, it's just you need more tools to do it, and I feel like if the gun needs a punch, they should fit a punch holder in that behemoth somewhere

Well now this was a interesting video and you have got to hand to the high point because they do work but they are just so bulky and ugly. I do own the 995 9 mm carbine and it is a really good shooter and me it doesn't look so bad. I can testify to the fact that high point will stand behind their lifetime warranty because I had a 9 mm pistol and it was wore out when I bought it. So I sent it in to high point to be either repaired or replaced and high point sent me back a brand new 9 mm pistol.

Btwn a few Academy Sports gift cards some family members gifted me and a sale at the store, I bought a C-9 for about $30 of my own money when it was all said and done. I hate that thing, but only bc it's fat, heavy and ugly. That being said, it's very reliable and surprisingly accurate. I wouldn't call it "indestructible" or anything, it feels cheap, but still tough, it's weird. Overall, I don't mind keeping it. I'll let my friends shoot it. Or maybe I should bury it out back with a few hundred rounds? Or maybe I'll keep it as a backup nightstand gun, so that after I pop a crackhead breaking into my home, the police can take my Hi Point for their investigation instead of one of my nicer guns... 🤔

I also own two hi-points, if I miss with the first I can still thrown the second one. Just kidding they make a gun that goes bang, every time.

I have the 4595 had problems with failing to feed and double feed. After sending it in to highpoint it came back with an extra mag and a checklist saying they found nothing wrong with my gun. And with the newest mag it ran well but one mag would not work without holding it up, so it would appear that the problem was with the magazine and not the gun. If I can alter the mag to lock in tighter I think it will work great.

I try not to be a firearm snob. While I don't own any Hi-Point, I do have 4 Ruger firearms and they're not exactly known as Gucci guns but are affordable and reliable. No fancy Italian shotguns in my collection. Just Mossberg and Remington. Heck, not one of my firearms out of the box cost over $800. I guess as "fancy" as my collection gets is some Sig firearms or maybe the Kimber I got 20+ years ago. My M400 Tread was $799 though I've put about that much into it the past three years to modify it my liking (charging handle, muzzle device, handguard, trigger plus all the accessories... it all adds up). If your Hi-Point firearms works, then never let anyone tell you otherwise.

About ten years ago I bought a dremel, some polishing bits, and a hi point c9, and all for about $120 used. That hi point taught me everything I needed to know about the ins and outs of a firearm ( not too many people have the balls to start dremeling their higher cost guns) . It no longer is drop safe, but it does have a decent 2 lb trigger now 😂. I have keep about 10 handguns in my collection, and the newbies I take out actually shoot and feel most confident with the hi point 🤷‍♂️

You have a tremendous channel and deserve 1 million subscribers. On today's video, I have handled the said handguns and I just can't find them aesthetically pleasing. And the weight and bulk just turn me off. The carbine is another story. It's well made and reliable in a utilitarian way so I can live with it. Can't be the price and value. Thanks for another great video.

The only hi-point pistol I've considered getting is their 10mm, but I certainly plan on getting a carbine. Personally, I lean towards the .45 because it'd give me a great excuse to buy an RIA 1911 to go with it. I find your videos on budget guns to be more enjoyable and essential because they debunk the myth that you have to spend 5, 6, 700 bucks in order to get a gun in order for it to be effective. The attitude of it's not a Glock, Sig or Smith its not worth it, which unfortunately seems to be the norm, is just ignorance if you ask me.

*Classic Shasta Cola commercial; contact them.* 🤠💥👍 (8:22 Great photography; mountain in background) 9:00 *We still have them in CA for $300.00 (10mm my choice)* *LOL! "Where the Hell am I?"* 11:03 *Although I recognize the benefits, I've never felt the need to own a carbine, but have always kept my eye on these Hi-Points.* *Such an incredible value, I would have no problem purchasing one.* *But Hi-Point needs our feedback on that value, you can't bump up the price, without bumping up the quality; low price is what makes them so attractive.* *Thanks for the video.* 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hey Mix! I bought a Hi-point C9 (compact 9mm) a few months ago just for poops and giggles ($90...), but I'll be darned if the dang thing doesn't just go bang every time. Not something I would choose to defend my life with, but they certainly do work. PS: Miss the beam ins....

I’ve been thinking of getting the high point carbine. Had one at my local gun show in 10mm for like 380. The state I live in you have to have that paddle attachment behind the trigger so you can’t wrap your hand around. I’d probably lean towards 9mm or maybe 45 just based on price of ammo.

I am not a fan of the pistols mainly because they are big, bulky and ugly .. But I have to say that the two 9mm carbines I own are some of my favorite plinkers. Accurate right out of the box, even better with red dots. Can't say they've been 100% reliable though, several extraction and feeding issues. None the less they are very fun to shoot.

I carry a older Beretta, but have a hipoint 9mm thats great for loaning to people on hog hunts. Its been beat and abused and always goes bang. I work on my own revolvers and lever guns, so polishing and tuning cheap autos is no big deal. Makes a big difference. Have a little .380 Jimenez that actually runs great, fun toy for balloon shoots and such with friends. Ive also had several hi point/raven/jimmy/RG10's i couldnt make run reliable either, though 😅

it might be worth investing in a set of folding irons for the carbine! i've ordered mags over the phone from them definitely easy to deal with! my only real complaint on the C9 is the safety, it could be a bit bigger and easier to throw there's times it takes me a couple tries to get it on!

You will not beat Hi Points customer service. I have owned a 9mm carbine ( first model ) 2 9mm pistols and a .40 cal carbine. They have all performed great. There is a fed lip mod you need to do to some 9mm pistol magazines but that's all I ever had to do to one. I actually polished internals on one and it was really a smooth shooter. The most I ever paid for a pistol was $150 but the .40 cal carbine was $300 . What other carbine are you gonna buy that cheap ? People make fun of Hi Points but they are cheap and work well. I never had a problem selling any of them either. A underrated firearm.
