do they have a plug gauge to check the thread before removing from the chuck because sometimes the insert chips.does the operater change the insert on every component. answer please cheers. I have worked mazaks 5 axis and they are very clever move 1 micron on offsets and they do the biz.vari axis 500

Hi John, You can get a thread gauge. This will either fit the thread or not. This gauge will tell the operator for production purposes if the thread is good to go or not. This is a relatively cheap way to check every thread that is being machined as accidents do happen when machining such as tips chipping or breaking. There are special toolpaths built in the Mazatrol programming to make the pressure on the cutting areas of the threading tool less, but still keep machining speed high. I hope this helps.
