Wow I have been self teaching myself most of these things over the past few years. Good to know there are still old school experts out there know are not dead or retired 😅. Nice Video keep them coming.👌

Not sure I'm really an expert. Not quite dead yet though.

Hi, great video to learn from. It's just that I have a Cannon E400 camcorder, the only problem I have is trying to open it even though the power light is on, only for about 10 seconds, then the power switches off. Any solutions I could try??? Thanks

Can't be fixed by remote control, it needs proper expertise. Probably bad capacitors but might be a mechanical fault. Could be challenging if not impossible.

That's a very reasonable price for demolding. Specbos in the USA charges $100 per tape.
@video99couk4 жыл бұрын
It's hard to know what's the right price. You don't want to make it impossibly expensive for people, but the cost does have to reflect time, equipment and hazards of de-moulding tapes. It's certainly no fun at all.
@D84D2 жыл бұрын
my sony handycam will load when empty. if you add the tape it will hesitate with no sound or attempt to load then 5 seconds later will eject the tape. the first loading step is manual. you put the tape in then push it into a load position then it is supposed to auto load down into the deck. this is the step that doesn't happen but it will eject the tape. all other functions are opperational.

Is the head spinning when there's a tape in it? If not, it may be detecting that and so eject the tape.

hi there, can you please provide the name of the power supply you are using to supply power to the camcorder? I see it says "Professional" on there
@video99couk Жыл бұрын
I believe it was the normal power supply for that camcorder. Can you give me the timing of the part of the video where you see "Professional" markings?

I got Video 8 Cam-Corder and it's not play at all. Have SONY use bad components, like capasitors in that are? (2003)
@video99couk4 жыл бұрын
Capacitor failure in camcorders is a known problem with all brands. But there can be other causes for failure including mechanical and interconnection.

hi this would make a good video my brother has a dvd recorder one of the blue-ray one panasonic DMR BS 750 the thing is the blue-ray drives go in them i have a computer with a 100gb burner i all ways think the computer burners work better than the dvd recorders burners what do you think panasonic DMR BS 750 can you still get the blue ray parts for this at all just asking bob
@video99couk4 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I did once install a computer DVD drive into a Toshiba DVD recorder and it worked fairly well. But I doubt that would be possible with BD. You could go through Panasonic's web site to see who are the official parts stockists. First thing though is to find a service manual and so get the part number.

Hello. Can you change the lens on this camera?
@video99couk3 жыл бұрын
No, only add "filter" type lenses.

@video99couk3 жыл бұрын
There's no easy answer to that. If you know what you're doing, it can be opened, but if you don't know what you're doing then you are likely to wreck camcorder and possibly tape.

Wonder if they thought it would eject without power, and tried to pull it open.
@video99couk4 жыл бұрын
I think it just jammed for them as it did on my tape, and they tried to extract their tape by any means possible. But the deck is too solidly built for brute force, unless you get really brutal and risk smashing the tape. So it was best they get me to do it, by powering the motors if necessary.

Ooow that camcorder was a bit ill, or maybe it was that crappy power supply on the back lol. Eather way it was lucky that it ejected the tape once :-D There is a tuber i watch called 12voltvideos, he repairs all sorts of equipment and most of the time the dredded metal capacitors go bad and kill all camcorders and similar, He has a sarcastic way with him, but i'm used to that. I may be repeating myself so sorry first, i had a chrome video tape that had dots all over the tape, the playback was like the worst dropouts you could imagine, i dumped it. (silly sod) I had a second one with the same thing, i left it downstairs without any thought, the dots vanished fully two days later. How stupid :-(
@video99couk4 жыл бұрын
I watch 12voltvids too, he knows what he's doing. I think this camcorder was trying to lace and unlace but getting stuck. It may have been just a deck lubrication issue. I doubt a power fault since it was playing a tape at one point.
@zx8401ztv4 жыл бұрын
@@video99couk it's difficult to find tubers like yourself and 12voltvids. Xraytonyb is great for hi-fi repairs, he explains things very well, like yourself :-D

Steady on. Not everyone knows how a camcorder is built, and they were just trying to get the tape out any old how so it could be transferred. But it's of course far better that I take the tape out for them.
