I drive truck a few years ago bought the cheapest Weboost and it worked better than having nothing; kept calls going and gps function. Going to look into this system. Thanks.

Glad it helped! Definitely worth it for the boost.

Just a small correction, the "Roam" Starlink kit is $500 and $150/mo for the unlimited service. You can do a 50GB cap for $50/mo and then pay for more if you need it.

Yeah, they’ve lowered the price for sure.

How does this compare to the weboost? I can find the weboost on sale around the same price so is it worth with the 5G? LTE isn’t going to matter in either model but the hiboost would really shine in cities where 5G ultra is more relevant

They seem to function very similarly. My results with both were pretty similar so I'd probably go with whichever one was the better deal, honestly.

@@AllThingsOverlanding they would definitely get my sale if they offered it for like $300 while the more name brand weboost for $450. Seems like a missed opportunity but I don’t know the cost of manufacturing it. Thanks!

How does it work with apps like Watch Duty and different weather apps. Living in California I've found Watch Duty and the Windy app crucial to really look at and figure out what I need to know about new wildfires and trying to figure out what the weather is doing so I can stay safe and informed so I don't put myself in a potentially dangerous situation unknowingly.

I've heard good things about that app. I would think it would work pretty well as I'm guessing an app like that isn't moving huge chunks of data. It would definitely work better than with no cell booster.

Too bad you didn't do the "video test" option as well. Seems running a speed test and actual data can be a disappointing difference. Also, standing where you are in the "forest" I would really question the ability of Starlink given the need for "clear sky" access.

I bet I could get a clear line of sight through the trees for starlink. As for video test, these things really don't make such a difference (usually) that you can actually stream anything. At least not if you're really remote. If you're in a spot with 2 bars of service and it bumps you up from there, maybe.
