I love Hickory. My sister lives there & my dad grew up there. I recall going to Woodrow Hill’s cafe as a toddler. My brother lived there for a few years too. He was director of the city library. Great town, lots of good people.

I have to say as someone who grew up in Hickory I was pleased to see this. I just wanted people to know that before Hickory News occupied that corner was Lutz’s Drug. We spent many afternoons there after school and especially on Saturdays. One of my fondest memories is of my Mama bring me to Lutz’s for an awesome pear salad. Just a little trip down memory lane. Thank you for showing our great town to the world.

Sure appreciate this nice comment Michelle. Really cool to hear about the drug store. Wish I'd been around to experience that. Again - thanks so much.

Nice video Tony. One summer, while I was in college in Boone, we drove down to Hickory every morning to work at our summer jobs at the Broyhill Furniture manufacturing plant in Hickory. That was enough to make anyone be sure to stay in school:)

Nice video and enjoyed the comments too. Some videos of the concerts under the sails would be nice. Even if I don't stay for the concerts, I love to walk through and just observe the crowd having fun. Good vibes

Nice tour of a quaint little place and downtown area. The local beautification efforts have surely paid off. The old brick buildings are an architectural heritage to the handiwork of our predecessors. You sure have some funny lines in this video and i will have to remember the one about being weird. You reminded me that I will always remember that beginning lick to Crazy Train even if I live to 100. Great video Tony.

so nice. 80 and sunny eh? Here in Tallahassee, a sunny day that turned to some rain with 90 degrees. Back in the middle 60s I was stationed at Myrtle Beach air force base and I would take trips to the mountains on three day weekends. your two live oaks reminds me that in Lenoir, maybe, I saw a 20 foot tall palm tree in someone's yard! looked to have been there for 30 years or more and looked perfectly healthy. Hickory. A town that I might could want to live in! Thank you for the video, shaky or not.

That's a laid back chill town. What's the cost of living there like? Like rent and taxes etc... The last time I was there, like 10 years ago, they didn't have all the places to sit and walk around. It's changed a lot!
