19 May 2024. Dispatch: Justice for Senior Airman Roger Fortson USAF. There is a scene in Squid Game where a character describes the loadout of the hero detective's revolver: a blank round in the barrel, then a rubber bullet, then lethal rounds in the remaining chambers. I have never been a police, I am ignorant of the challenges they face, yet I wonder if such a loadout might be possible. Certainly we need to improve and standardize escalation-of-force training across all American police departments. Here is how police escalation-of-force could go: 1. Shout "Police" to identify & announce officers of the law 2. Give verbal commands ("freeze" "put your hands up" "drop the weapon") 3. Fire a blank round warning shot into the ground 4. Fire a rubber bullet into the assailant's center-of-mass (or employ taser or other non-lethal weapon) 5. Employ lethal force I rarely see American police fire warning shots anymore. Why has this practice disappeared? I think we need to collect the badge of the officer who shot Senior Airman Fortson USAF. Answering the door to one's own home with a gun in one's hand - safely pointed at the floor - is not a crime in America. Americans have the right to defend our homes & lives. Senior Airman Fortson did not know who was at his door - did the officer identify himself as police? Why did the officer only give a verbal command to drop the weapon after he shot Senior Airman Fortson? We need better & standardized escalation-of-force training across all American Police departments. God save the Air Force. God save the Police. God save our country. May God comfort the grieving family & loved ones & Air Force teammates of Senior Airman Fortson. Christ have mercy upon us all. Evening Poem: The Drummer Drives the Bus Seven months I've been here already I'm the 1st backup drummer for the house band we practiced tonight while the bar was closed ninety glorious minutes on the noise machine This alone should be sufficient sign from God that I should buy a house and settle here I try to make a rhythm for my Cat's life an unspoken understanding she wakes, I greet her, I feed her I let her out, wedging my sneaker in the door so she can return at speed if need be While she has her adventure I go about my chores scoop the litter box take out the trash sweep the floor The Drummer, he is like the dishwasher in a restaurant kitchen, the beating heart of the whole operation The Drummer, he drives the bus for the other musicians, carries them along with his beat not too many fills, not too many dramatic pauses - be a servant to the other musicians like a humble dishwasher My Cat's sharp meow is like a high-hat her soft mewing is like a ride cymbal Her percussive feet running to and fro across this wooden floor are the snare drum and when she wakes me up purring her purr is the heartbeat of a bass kick drum I like it here I hope they'll let me stay - TWS kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqCllKdveN2jirc
