love all the items here! im curious about its practicality though. is it really realistic to expect someone to constantly dig through an altoids tin? imagine having to remove the notebook from the back of the box, to jot down a quick note, and then youd have to rearrange them back in order too.

I don't like the gerber dime because the tools (especially the scissors) aren't good, but unfortunately this is perhaps the only mini-tool that fits the bill.

The now discontinued Leatherman Squirt PS4 is better quality and slightly more compact. You might be able to find one. Out of currently available mini multi-tools, the Nextool Mini Sailor or Mini Sailor Scissors would probably be better than the Dime also. Though they are slightly larger than the Dime, they would probably still fit in this tin as a replacement. I wish Leatherman chose instead to continue to make the Squirt PS4 and just put it under a different warranty.

While not precisely cut County Comm also offers a silicone tray that fits their big size tin that is split into 4 sections. You can cut the walls out easily to customize it. For instance on mine I cut the lower middle wall out leaving 1 long section closest to me and 2 smaller sections above that. I actually decided not to even use it though because the problem with it or anything you will put inside to try to organize it is that even the thinnest things just take up too much space because you dont have that much space to work with. On a side note however, the County Comm tin is amazing and the SSK drives (i recently just got one 256 gb) are extremely well build and well suited to keychain carry as well. I had a san disk one that was all metal and it got bent just carrying in my pocket. The ssk feels like a tank and the sleeve it comes with is nice and feels like it will help protect it as well.

It is not an every day carry kit. Carry essentials for what, your perception of what another human should own? Limited capacity for critical items and no medical support. Pen and note pad? What's wrong with your phone Notes or Voice recorder? Container is severly limited in volume capacity. Such mini lighters are inherently unreliable - I have a few. You might try a min Zippo. I carry a 650 lumen fRovyVon A5U G4 flashlight - exceptional. You might check in with Jon Gadget, KZbin. It's not how small you can go and limit yourself to gear that fits into a small space. It's an analysis of what you sincerely need at the size and utility you deem necessary.

EDC and multi-tool manufacturers, PLEASE hear my cries and STOP putting bottle openers into said tools. I'd prefer a can opener while surviving. . I'll open my craft beers w/ a bic lighter or anthing harder than 2.5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. How much steel is wasted annually on bottle openers?

This was a stupid EDC. Realistically, the most important item would be a battery bank for your phone. Next would be tissues. Why have a charging cable without the charging source? The Gerber Dime is trash. If you want a blade, the Victorinox rambler would be a good choice.
