Hidan's recruitment should have been the point Konan should have started questioning what the Akatsuki had become. She, Yahiko, and Nagato started the group to obtain peace, but people like Hidan don't want peace and just want to kill for the sake of killing. In fact, I think Itachi was really the only Akatsuki member outside of the founders that actually wanted peace.

The truth is: Konoha had no chance against Akatsuki, Sakura should be dead, as well as Naruto. The Infinite Tsukuyomi should've been what it was firstly presented as. But that's just my opinion. Seems that the end was well-received by most.
