Hidden Color in the MINI Instrument Display

Maybe you knew about this and maybe you did not. Check out the instrument cluster display. Pretty drab, right? Well it can display color and actually does on one setting. Why doesn't MINI use this more? Do they think it would be too distracting? Did they just get lazy or forget? Who knows!?
All I know is I want more color screens on this display!

I don’t understand how it’s hidden? It’s the first thing I noticed when I picked up my mini :) and it’s my favourite option to keep on because I like having my engine temp displayed

I meant that they almost hide that fact that this screen can display color. The only way you would know it is if you were on this temperature option. Why don't they use more colors on the other options? That's what I meant by it. Not that they hide the temp gauge

Hello, would you know how to change the time on the instrument display? For some weird reason the time there is different vs the time on the main central console. Any tip would be appreciated!

I remember back to when I had a 2016 Cooper S from new and it had to go on for a software upgrade as a recall (IIRC) and when I drove it away one change from I noticed was that bar which had hitherto not been there. I think that was 2016 at some point too.

They also show the cruise control speed in that displays, which is displayed as agreed in the top left when activated and red when paused

If there is is red of course there is colour, what did you expect? An LCD only capable of red and white?

What I really like is at night the color changes from white to red. And the digital speedo is by far the best one.

I just recently picked up a 2019 F55 Cooper S and hoping somebody can answer this for me. When toggling the various display options, as shown in the video, I prefer for the current speed to display. However, every time I restart the car, it returns back to whatever the default display is. Is there a way to make one of the toggle settings the default that returns after turning the vehicle off/on? I hate having to toggle back to the current speed (digital display of speed) option each time I start the vehicle. Thanks!

Mine used to look the same had a series of bars. You have to take it to mini and they will update your system which gives you the new stuff in this video.

If you have the same instrument cluster then I would imagine you should have that page display with the engine temperature.
