One thing about this I've learned is that Viper is exceptionally good at mimicking other pro player's ticks and small moves. He learns and copies a lot of small feature things of other ppl he normally plays against and it makes it so hard to guess who he actually is, even when he has some games that are utterly convincingly Viper, but the games around it are so different with unpredictable tactics Another thing I learned is that chat folk are still the same trolls they always seem to be

I love Saladin's mental strategies, completely non metta, not the constant boring arb spam, ,highly creative and fun, yet he is the best in the world. Hindsight in 2020: The random vills moving around is a key feature of Viper's gameplay! He always has these random vills moving around ever since DE came. Tower building has always been a Viper thing as well. Some Norwegians push with outposts while others use towers. He made Koreans great again and uses the same strat with Japanese in imp. Also, there were plenty of quick walls in this round.

It was blatantly obvious that Saladin was Viper the moment he teched into Elite War Elephant in one of the biggest AOE2 tourneys of all time. If he had just been making elephants, maybe not Viper, but no other pro commits to memeing hard enough to go for Elite War Elephants.

@@MistaHoward Nicov went War Elephants in his qualifier round. He would have upgraded to Elite war elephants if the match had lasted longer. This notion that noone would dare to make elite war elephants except Viper is faulty. All the top 5 players are capable of whipping out this kind of strategy. Viper went out of the way to play differently from his normal style and it showed!
