Hi Jan, thanks for this video about the dangers that tourists should be award of. With all of the cliffs there it makes sense that some tourists get into trouble by not being cautious of the dangers.

A few more things about safety: 1. Lambs on on the road. Sheep roam free in many parts of Iceland. Right after lambing season, the lambs will still be following their mothers around, there is a period of time when the lambs and sheep have not acclimatized to the road traffic and will sometimes get spooked by cars and they will dart up and onto the road, trying to get to their mother on the other side. These animals can behave quite randomly and may even do this when the mother is on the same side as them... 2. Single lane bridges and blind-hills. These should have warning signs, just slow down and drive carefully. 3. Do not walk on fresh volcano tephra! This rock is brittle and can easily break and it's easy to fall in such a way that you break your foot. Additionally, if the lava is especially fresh you could open up a cavity that still has lots of hot lava under. (Lava can take a long time to cool.) 4. Don't go near any volcano. While beautiful they may exhaust toxic gases that can make you feint and then die.

The biggest risk to Tourists in Iceland is their own stupidity.

US safety tips: Don't make eye contact with humans. Don't walk outside at night. if someone points a gun at you, run in a zigzag pattern. Iceland safety tips: Don't make eye contact with polar bears who have traveled from Greenland on an iceberg. Don't walk off a cliff. If the ocean points a wave at you, run in a straight line.

You just can't under estimate the stupidity of some people. Being an American, I can say, especially Americans. We have so many safety regulations, fences, etc. Not those aren't routinely ignored, as well, but when they go to an exotic place like Iceland, they think they are in Disney world. They just aren't accustomed to needing to use common sense, if they have any. I always find it a bit breathtaking watching the Icelandic KZbinrs drive their car into a river. There is absolutely nothing like that in the US. Maybe rare places where a mountain stream flows across a paved road but, unless you are literally "Off Roading" on forest service fire road, you would never need to drive into a river. In fact that's the kind situation where they would put up a barrier and close the road to traffic. Puffins...🤣🤣🤣

Cuz Americans can't think straight, if they had to drive through a river they would just die lol
