The car manufacturers have been developing electric cars for years because they’re not idiots who think the future is going to always rely on fossil fuels. And he already said that an electric model will be an objective for the future model. This model was released in 2018, probably already in the works before he had any say in how it was made, not to mention the fact he was focused on addressing the failed COVID response Trump left office with, not whether this car was electric or not.

Actually it's more of a shit box it's only really good for say modern roads one it sinks like a brick on wheels so it can't go out there it really doesn't drive that well and really shitty weather so I'm in any car that's really good at driving on black ice can pretty much do donuts around that thing and most of the Secret Service which is funny as hell if you get three or four tanks to have target practice eventually you'll blow up the car but I mean it will take a beating and slightly I hate to say it the tank will win
