If a rain sensor is installed, moving the wiper lever to the first position arms it for rain. The more it rains the faster the wipers go. If the rain stops, the wipers will stop also.

Yeah I’m most states it requires you to have your headlight to be turned on when your wipers are on, and since you have it on auto it’s a neat feature that was added in

Great video, but the rear screen is heated by a wire element and not blown air like the front windscreen. Just to point that out as it doesn't operate the same split temperature system as you demonstrated on the front.

@cookiemonster they'll just be design features though rather than heating vents. I've yet to see a car that runs the hot coolant from the heater matrix in the dashboard to the back of the car just to blow on the rear screen.

before elements became common some old cars did have rear hot air ducting to the back window - 60's saabs for instance. it worked reasonably well.

The defrost actually turns on the ac, to dehumidify, and then reheats it. That way you get hot dry air blowing on the windows.

If this has been mentioned before sorry. If your car has the fog/driving lights and they are on with your headlights, in auto with the windshield wipers on, the headlights will stay on. I noticed it after it stopped raining and the wipers stayed off the lights remained on. My 05 330i has the auto wiper feature so in the 1st position which is the intermittent it will stop if it doesn't sense rain (so I believe this is the only way it may work) I leave my wipers in the 1st position all the time (intermittent). Hope this makes sense. Keep up the great videos!

Hidden feature works in any e46. U have to turn the key in position 1 and push the right button when u see the miles left for next service.

2:42 there's a little hole in the carpet that the gas cap release cable is supposed to go through. You can easily pull the end of it off and feed the cable through the carpet. I'd hate to start taking the carpet out at a gas station lol

Hello, For the brake service screen, you need to press or hold (not sure which) the button while the oil service screen is still on (like on 7:43). That's how it works on my car (E46 M3 Euro 2003 Pre-LED taillights). I don't remember which position the key should be in, whether it's 1 or 2, but you shouldn't wait until the oil service screen goes out. If it works, you should see your next brake service date. Cheers.

It is called "Central Locking System" buddy! It is a system to not only help aid you on not locking your keys in your Bimmer, actually, it is impossible to lock the keys inside the BMW. As you may or may not know, there are scan tools that one can purchase. With that scan tool, the Bimmer can be coded by one's personally liking. For example, you want the car to lock after you get inside, but from factory, it does not, with the scan tool, you can code the Bimmer to lock as soon as the car is started, put into gear or when you reach a set speed, and then set it to unlock when you shut off the engine. Personally, I don't want my Bimmer to unlock when I shut off the engine, it'll unlock after 2 pulls of the inside door handle. There is a really great added bonus if you lock the car as you drive, and that is, you head off to the Mobile gas station, no need to unlock the car for the gas attendant to access your fuel door, because your car does not lock the gas cap door while it's being driven. The only time the gas lid door locks is when the alarm is set. You can leave all windows down, exit the car and activate the alarm, non of the car's doors cannot and will not open, even if you reach your hand inside and pull on the inside door handle, yes the lock nob will popup and yes you can grab ahold of the lock nob and hold it while you try again to open the door by using the inside door handle, and by this time you've probably set off the car alarm by the motion sensors hidden away inside the car.

7:49 - Just pressing this clears the odometer. Try cycling through the options with the button on the blinker stock. EDIT: Pressing and holding the button on the blinkers resets all stats such as average speed, mpg, etc.

Had a 02 euro 325i, had rear fog lights. Was able to have brights and fogs both on at the same time. Had two first aid kits, one in the trunk and one under the seat. Only down fall is auto head lights aren't a thing. But I was able to roll my windows up with the fob as well as roll them down.

Heres a hidden feature. If the proper bmw radio is fitted, you should be able to set it so it adjusts the volume matching car speed. Can even set how much each volume is changed at certain speeds. Bet you didnt know that!!!

The rear defroster doesn't blow air. It heats up the orange wires embedded in the glass.

Fun fact, the rear window doesn’t use hot air to defrost it, those lines are wires that generate heat and defrost it

If you hold the left knob thingy on the dash, and eventually get to test mode, you can click repeatedly until you get to 19. Wait a sec and then go to the second knob and then click that to either 1.5 or 2 and your car will run a test on all your lights like speedometer odometer etc..

Mate, I've got the same Eonon headunit in my E46. The software is shockingly slow. Have you installed different software/os on to it? If so, can you remember the process to get it in to recovery mode so I can flash the new OS I have waiting on a memory card?

Hi , thanks for some great information and while I knew some many I didn't , another query is under the bank seat on each side by the wires for the fuel tanks is another wire & plug a 2 pin that fits a LED light ,I have a strip LED light that fits right , I haven't been able to get it to work but the pin does fit correctly , so was wondering if your 330 coupe has them also ? I have a 2000 E39 528i M spec SE auto which is a factory M5 looking car as has all the features of the M5 but unfortunately not the engine and gearbox but has all the other features like staggered sized M5 alloy 17" wheels, alloy interior trim 'black headling, body kit & front spoiler with front fog lights,, lowered suspension, I love it and until I can afford a real M5 its a good interim model, also 1996 E36 318i manual,2001 E46 316ti auto compact and 2001E46 318i sedan auto.

I know all about the fuel flap lock as mine didn't lock until yesterday. The previous owner must have done something resulting in the pin coming out of the hole and detaching from the solenoid. I developed double joints refitted it.

Have you thought that the brake fluid test does actually work on your car but maybe, just maybe, your brake fluid level and condition is good. I found it funny when you said ''unfortunately'' to the light not coming on. Id consider it a good thing that there is no light coming on. Haha nice vid tho dude. I just got an immacullate 2004 325ci cabriolet. Its all m sported and is like new still. My friend thought it was an m3.

You forgot to mention in all your videos that you can also activate a tachometer through your gauge with the same left button so if you performance your car you don't have to buy a tachometer, personally I love my 2004 325Ci convertible, it's got the M3 engine swap 343 horsepower engine and a single turbo along with a 20,000 premium package from the dealership including the kardon sound system but I added a 2200w boss amp along with a pioneer radio and a Harmony speaker setup that covers the whole back seat, I like the DVD player setup I thought about getting one of those myself but I seen it as a distraction 🤣

Cool videos about hidden stuff, but... In this one it's not you wipers that turn on the automatic lights I mean yes they are but only because they are sliding over the light sensor in your windshield... If they are moving fast they create a bit of darkness over the sensor so the headlights turn on... Try it without the wipers put on the A-light and from outside with your palm cover the higher middle part of the windshield where rearview mirror is attached... And maybe I'm wrong but it could be that your front defroster is malfunctioning and also the back it is not blowing but it is a heater on back windshield those lines that you see they heat up...

The rear defroster doesn’t blow warm air on the rear window...those wires in the glass of the back window are heating elements that’s how your back window defrosts... and the first aid kit doesn’t come standard in the American version... it’s only in and required by law in the European models. That’s one difference and one way to tell if your car is actually imported as opposed to to being made in the US.

You actually left out the only cool thing bmw did around the fuel refill..... the small green plastic part on the inside of the door for holding your fuel cap while filling is also a tool for removing the valve caps clip it off the door and it fits tight on tbe oem valve caps to make them bigger and easy to loosen if they are stuck or to tight for some people to twist off

NOW I know why there is a separate dial on the vents that blow hot/cold air. It's because you can have warm air coming out of your front defroster, but then have cold air coming out your vents, or have warm air coming out your vents. Or something in between..... I think. Also, I don't think there is a blower for the rear defroster. Tthe rear window has those electric resistor going across the back window.

Some are equipped with automatic wipers, the others have adaptive wipers like you described. Pretty crazy for my wipers to come on automatically in a 14 year old car 👌

I've got two E46's; one I've had since 2005 and didn't know 99% of these features...i bought the 2005 330i in Germany...it came from the Munich factory...north american spec...the european spec has a headlight feature in which one can manually adjust the headlights...just thought i'd add that in case you didn't know...wish the NA spec had this feature...

I was wondering why there was no headlight adjuster. I wonder if the NA cars have automatic headlight adjustment? It's for when your car is loaded down with 5 people and luggage etc and the headlights no longer point the correct direction along the road.

Yes NA cars have auto headlight adjustment only if you have Xenons.

@@gregm1343 at 3:35 there is this little wheel to the right of the light switch. Woth that wheel you can adjust the brightness of the interior. If you have the option to adjust the headlights, there would be another wheel next to that

The reason why the lights go on when he has the windshield wipers on is because (in nj) you can get pulled over for not having headlights on when your whipers are on.
