The fact that you like the tip system is encouraging, the lack of a full on tutorial is definitely a soft spot, with so much going on. I see some room for rearranging and tweaking the tips to convey more relevant info in a more timely manner. Also, I noticed a couple minor visual bugs, there is a patch coming with some minor fixes, though fortunately I haven't run into gamebreaking things to fix so far, just weird menu and visual hiccups. I only just started the video, but I'm excited. Haha. Thanks for checking the game out! It's fascinating seeing what you're picking up super fast and what is going unnoticed. Definitely will inform some tweaks coming up. Post watching: Really, you randomed into a Necro tile? I already fixed that typo but have been waiting to upload the patch. Lol. Also, you died to the first boss. You really only can see that in the enemy queue, I will probably make that visible in combat too. It did feel a bit jarring without knowing that... First boss is a big hurdle to clear. Had a ton of fun watching, was tempted to type out a gigantic essay as I watched, but, uh, I restrained myself. It's probably better if I find ways to work my thoughts into the game, so everyone can follow along. Thanks again.

I think putting feedback for everytime you consume all moves and damage is dealt/blocked between the player and the enemy would be nice too, maybe a little visual and audio queue to let the player know they got hit or something

Looks interesting, will definitly check it out. I wonder if the revealed parts in the "level up" map also change each run. The one tip mentioned two tiles that were not present so I can only assume as much. (Unless you have to get that particular combo through random tiles but that would seem odd)
@ThomasReichJ2 жыл бұрын
Definitely does. The pattern of random and known and heals is the same (generally), but the rest is randomized. I do some minor tweaking to encourage some multiples but other than that random. There are 170 some tiles at the moment (some start locked though).

Do it again! I think a hail mary shuffle was in order at the end there, but it was the perfect episode length too. Thanks for trying out so many random games perfectly curated for my (our?) tastes.

Haven't played the game yet so I could be wrong, but I think you could have used the hand tile to reset your necro tile after using it so you could use it twice. Maybe when you re-reveal it though it's still drained.
@ThomasReichJ2 жыл бұрын
That definitely could have been done. I've reworded the tile slightly for a future patch. I was hoping for him to Necro on a soft def turn and then shuffle. But setting up a big Necro definitely seemed like his way to cut through.

Pretty sure the enshrine means if you end your turn on that tile all block and attack is doubled.

exactly what i was thinking, also screaming at him to use his stacked up zombie hit
@ThomasReichJ2 жыл бұрын
Haven't even watched the video yet, though I'm excited to... Enshrine affects any tile that is there (thus the border change). In one of my gameplay videos I just posted I definitely was feeling the lack of explanation on enshrine. It may be on one of the tips. If not I'll add that... It turns the enshrining tile to fog (usually) and makes that location's tile do something. So 2x hit/2x save means the tile on that monument does 2x.

Whoa. This gives me Dreamquest vibes. Excellent idea. Cool balance of RNG & player agency with the fog of war on the tiles. Seems to be a very different take on the map-builder concept than Loop Hero. Dev, please consider a premium mobile game based on this idea. So cool. Also, consider implementing a seed hash so that cool random runs can be relived or shared.
@ThomasReichJ2 жыл бұрын
I actually had it seeded...like years ago, lol. But I didn't have the individual enemy attacks seeded. That and the instant variance from going east vs west at the start had me a little down on the idea. It probably would be possible to seed the selection lattice and enemy queue again. I need to sort out some priorities here before I commit to larger changes. I've been developing it slowly lately (work has been a lot, though the feedback today is very motivating)... I'll put it on my ideas board for reconsideration. Mobile is another beast. I can envision it and I think it would play well. As an amateur dev the idea is fairly overwhelming when I consider my code base. Not ruled out but don't hold your breath.
