It's so gentlemanly to want to stop sleeping in shifty places when you've got a lady with you, but I couldn't help remembering when me and my girlfriend slept in a playground tube in Sydney when we didn't want to spend any money during an overnight layover LOL. It was a very well-lit playground, which helped us feel safe but also was how we got caught and kicked out! XD

100% safe mate - do your self a favor and start a few km outside the city on the road up north towards Kai - it might take you 2 or 3 rides to make it to the turning for Kai but once you get there most cars will head to Pay - who knows that policeman might help u out hahaha good luck - please take a photo and tag @thebudgeteers on Instagram

Nice to see a girl on an adventure with you all. Question to Carly: After what you've been through with the guys do you think you'd do the same on your own or with a girlfriend? I'm just wondering safety wise is this something girls can consider doing.

+Catherine Ho i asked Karly for you. here is her response :) 'You've always got to have safety as your highest priority and that being said I felt 100% safe with the guys. I certainly wouldn't hitch hike alone, but if I was with a girlfriend in Thailand I would absolutely consider it. Thailand is relatively safe so depending on the country you're exploring you have to be aware of the risks. Always go with your gut though and if you feel something is off about someone offering you a ride, or any situation in general, stay calm and get out. Hope this helps!'

mostly you don't need a license but in Bali you did. But you can pay a fine to the police if you are unlucky to get caught
