But in order for everyone to live a happy life, they had to give up their own in a fearsome battle. After the battle, a palace was built in honor of the heroic hedgehog, but was hidden for only those closely related to them. Still it remained hidden until one brave hedgehog and his fox friend had found it, hoping to find any clues to the chaos emeralds. Afterwards, the hedgehog grew more determination to be just like his ancestor.

The sonic 2 from origins is the same one as the mobile version, this version has hidden palace as a hidden level in mystic cave zone 2

​@@m3t4l_sh1dd3r i think it was confirmed that hidden palace was supposed to have the music used in the mobile port and then when you finished the act this one would have played in a cutscene and then you unlocked super sonic i remember reading that a while ago but i forgot where

In addition to the revised stage that's accessed through the once-inescapable pit at Mystic Cave, there's also the "Proto Palace Zone", which is the original version stage that was featured in some of the prototypes. That one uses this song (track #10 in the sound test), while the other one uses the 2P Mystic Cave theme (track #03). However, for whatever reason, Proto Palace was made inaccessible in Origins...without hacking, at least.
