Why, strap a bunch of fusion-powered rocket boosters - known as "Earth Engines" - to the planet's surface and blast it into a new solar system over four light years away.
Think back to the goofy fun of all those world-saving epics from the late '90s, and you'll start to get a sense of what you're in for with The Wandering Earth. Did you like Armageddon? I am so happy! I have a medical condition that makes me have to basically sit uncomfortably (so it's difficult to read in discmfort) for 6 hrs every two days. Just watched Mirage (Durante la tormenta) (2018). The theme is of course similar to Frequency (Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel), but this is more complex, put together better and has several surprises along the way, as changes to the past disorient the present life of the main character almost to breaking point. Had me on the edge of my seat at times. . .

They both literally surprised me that they were so well-written, acted, and directed. Highly recommend The Endless. It's not big budget (boy, that's the truth) but the story has some time-loop head spinners that will play against any top notch horror equivalent I can remember. I promise you that you will rewatch scenes just so that you can put them into perspective. It's sci-fi horror at it's best. Give it time to evolve, but don't miss the first 15 minutes: major elements located at the start.

Although they leave off Freaks, Coherence, iBoy, It Comes At Night, Fractured, Annihilation, In the Shadow of the Moon, Event Horizon, Anon, Cargo, The Silence, The Ritual, Cloud Atlas, and It Follows... I know that Netflix is notorious for adding and removing content in various countries that aren’t always widely available... and the 60% of those mentioned that I have seen were great flicks

It has been, but not anymore. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The actors were instructed individually before every take about what they had to put in the story, but not how and not knowing what the other actors were instructed to do. Amazing, very unusual plot and wonderfully, realistically acted.

Even though it was a crictical\box-office failure, I actually really love Jupiter Ascending. I mean, it's 90s cheese a'la Judge Dredd, and 5th Element, which I wish there was more of. What Happened To Monday was EXCELLENT..I don't wanna spoil nothing but I shed a GANGSTA TEAR towards the end. The Wandering Earth WAS very good...kinda reminded me of Independence Day. I Am Mother was AWESOME also. I would recommend these 3 movies first (totally worth the time) Note: I haven't seen all the movies on this list..Jupiter Ascending and Spectral don't look bad.

Annihilaton is a fantastic film but doesn't quite belong in this list, as it is not strictly a Netflix hidden gem. It also had a theatre release, which didn't go so well, as well as being releasded on Hulu. In any case, it is much better known than the films listed in the vid.

After only a few months of being away from our sun, the Earth would begin completely freezing over. Sorry, the inclusion of Jupiter Ascending, discredit the whole list. A sci fi gem? I would call it a sci fi turd.

Jupiter Ascending, like Speed Racer, is a Wachovski film that makes a bad first impression, but gets better with time and some rewatching. And I totally get that's hard to believe. Part of the problem is the Matrix was so iconic that when they do anything else, people react poorly, as if George Lucas did a rom-com.

@@epbrown01 I had no idea Jupiter Ascending was the Wachowskis until I saw this video...so I didn't have any expectations going into it. I really wanted to like it, but it just bored me to sleep. I even tried watching it 2-3 different times and I couldn't get into it. There aren't many movies I just give up on, but that's one of them. With all the other movies from this list that I haven't yet seen, I probably won't try getting through Jupiter Ascending again unless I'm desperate.

I watched it despite the reviews, and found it to actually be a fun one-time popcorn flick. I don't think I'd bother watching it again, but it was crazy enough that I'm not unhappy that I watched it lol. It was a fun ride. Last thing: the plot isn't amazing, but Eddie Redmayne (as always) is.

Mirage seems like a remake of Frequency a movie from 2000 and tv show from 2016.

It starts out with the communication device idea but then it doesn't really continue on further with more communication. It pretty much stops that similarity the next morning when the lady wakes up to a new world history.
