Don’t be discouraged bro! I know it’s not fun having such a crazy issue with a new project but I will say this journey will make some awesome content 💪🏻

Thank you for the encouragement mate!! Thanks for tuning in 😄😄😄

Good video brother. It can be discouraging when you dive deeper into the car and find more major issues, but stay the course. This platform is seeing a bit of a revival (in my opinion) and I think your build will be worth the time and effort. If you do end up pulling the engine, there's so many things you can do as far as preventative maintenance goes that will serve you well in the long run. And if you are ever interested in performance mods, you can get yourself ready to support them while the engine is out.

Thanks for the encouraging words bro, I also think tiburon are being more appreciated as less and less of these simple, raw cars are on the road. I will try my best to thing her back to life!

That hole to the flywheel looks really odd.. It looks like there's a whole chunk of engine broken off there, but perhaps I'm misremembering how that particular piece looks. What there is supposed to be at that location is an inspection/drain port and cover. The cover is attached on the engine side and wraps over the transmission bell housing side - you can see the oily remnant of an indentation of where the covering plate used to sit at 6:58, in roughly the center of the screen. If you look for 'changing stitch's transmission fluid' you can see the plate in position at the 4:23 mark. There's also a damaged screwhole between there and the starter, which you can see is intact in the other video. If I had to venture a guess as to what happened, the previous owner was trying to change the clutch and in order to separate the transmission from the engine he went to town with a crowbar or a similar prying tool, causing the gouges in the bell housing and breaking off a major chunk of engine block behind the flywheel in the process. The previous owner should probably not be working on cars.

Seems my comment got deleted when I tried to add the OE number.. Anyway, I thought that area looked odd, because I remember my transmission not having that cover, either, and me not thinking too much about it and covering that area up with a piece of aluminum tape until I could be bothered enough to create a new cover out of sheet metal. The aluminum tape sat flush against the bottom of the bell housing interface.

I just saw on another video, that hole in the flywheel is normal. There's supposed to be a plastic cover there which mine is missing!!

The FORBIDDEN GLITTER! ✨✨✨ You might get lucky and be able to replace all the bearings. Gotta find out where the sparkles are coming from. If there is no major damage and all it needs is bearings then that is a very doable job especially if you're pulling the engine. Even if you find a spare engine it's still going to need work. At least you know this one runs and what it will need after you inspect it. A used engine might look good but have major issues as well once you get it installed and running which will then require you to pull it out again. Trust me, you're only going to want to install an engine once. Don't overlook the clutch as well. It's already pulled apart and it'll be easy access. Good luck!

I was just gonna look for an engine but you do have a point! When the time is right, I will probably take the engine apart and see what damage it has. Thanks for the suggestions buddy! Previous owner says clutch is brand new but I don't know if I trust anything he said at this point haha...spark plugs were supposedly new but clearly the rear 3 were not haha

It stuns me how people can let their cars get so bad and still try selling them after 🤦🏼♀️ sorry this had to happen to your dream car build. Hope you can bring it back into something great!

As we talked ‘bout that issue, so anyways let’s get out of this toasted motor and put a good used motor. Cheer up. You are not alone ! 😌

If you are removing the engine it might be worth replacing the main bearings while it's out, they are famous on this car for being weak. I take it the "ticking" is at the top end rather than the bottom?
@BWTECH05216 ай бұрын
I am planning to replace the engine entirely when I find a good donor car. The ticking seems to be coming from the top, not the bottom :)

What was the problem with the CEL ? It's also like that in my car, doesn't light up.
@BWTECH05216 ай бұрын
Misfire on 1,3,5, it was a bad ECU for me, but it could be so many other things. Regardless if the CEL or not, pull the codes and see what you get!
