We have 2000 km of atlantic coast, but the water is not warm. That´s why we sometimes go to Brazil. But we don´t mind, if water is cold, we have wonderful beaches.

Hi, D, lovely reaction, wanted to share that the part of Esteros del Iberá was recovered as that lady mentions thanks to the work of US filantropist and millionaire Douglas Tomkins, a hero of Argentina, he bought huge sections of the water reserve, he re-introduced many of the animals that had been hunted into extinction and when he had all ready and fixed he donated the lands to the Province of Corrientes under the condition that it would becoem a natural preserve area. The Province of Corrientes lived up to it's word and now the miracle has materialized as we have had more than 30 years of strict preservation. He died in 2015 from falling from a kayak into the freezing waters of Lake Carreras in Chile, a sad day for mankind !! He was the founder of Noth Face and Spirit sportswear and he will forever remain in our hearts.

Charles Darwin made a long voyage as a naturalist in the HMS Beagle with Captain Fitz Roy. He was in Argentina in 1833 while Fitz Roy made the charts of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego por the English Navy. They continued to Chile and he started to see in this voyage the presence of extint animals and the finding of sea shells up in the Andes, showing that one those were under the sea water but now where 3000m high. When he started the voyage he believed in the Bible, and everything should have been created a few thousands year ago. With his discoveries he started to doubt and at the end of his long voyage started his theory, today generally accepted, of the Evolution of Species along millions of years. In the nortwest of Argentina there are people of different etnicities but they share traditions like the belief in the "Pacha Mama" (Mother Earth") as their main god, and also the Carnaval, not related with either the Venice Carnival or the Brazilian Carnival. Here the people dress in costume shown in the video as "devils". The carnival start with the unearthing of the devil Pujllay that give an agenda of one week of groups of people (comparsas) dress like the devil dancing and drinking. The devil give the opportunity to leave the daily routine and have some transgression. Esteros del Iberá is similar to the Everglades in USA. A very big zone of marshes, lakes and wetlands which is believed to be one of the biggest fresh water reserves in the world.

That plane, in the middle of the lagoon (Laguna Brava, La Rioja, Arg., at 4500 meters high), was a private flight from Lima, Peru, to Buenos Aires, Arg., at the end of April 1964, the plane had to make an emergency landing, in that lagoon, bringing on board 6 crew members and 8 thoroughbred English mares, which belonged to the actor Omar Sharif, the mares were insured at £10,000 each. The 6 crew members survived and were rescued shortly after, of the 8 mares, only 2 died, and the other 6 escaped, forming a new colony of wild horses in a few years.....cheers.

I totally agree with you D, usually the most beautifull places are the ones where humans won't reach. Now imagine how earth must have looked when we didn't even exist yet. I often think about that and how I would like to have a time machine so I could travel to those times and just look at the clean landscapes
