A few lore corrections: -The demons were actually led by Varimathras, who had betrayed Sylvanas alongside Putress after the events of the Wrathgate. -The Kor'kron guards weren't always there either. They replaced the abomination guards after the events of the Wrathgate due to Garrosh and the Horde's subsequent distrust of the forsaken. The abominations were re-added in WoD, after Garrosh had been deposed as Warchief.

One other correction: after the Wrathgate incident, it was actually Thrall who put the kor'kron there. He wanted the close eyes on Sylvanas to prevent another fiasco like that. Garrosh kept them there to maintain a sense of control and ensure no more plague was being made. (It was, they just didn't see)

By the way, the undercity is one of the least updated cities on world of warcraft, which explains the terrible collision and wall phasing and unused alpha 2nd floor. Every other city got updated more except the undercity, silvermoon and the expansion only cities. Undercity was left to fade away, no idea why. It still uses vanilla textures, even the new legion models aren't used in areas like the apocathery or the slime river.

No, originally the Undercity was guarded by Abominations. The Kor'kron guards were put in place after the Wrath Gate and during Cataclysm. After Garrosh was defeated the Abominations returned to guard the city.

The mailboxes probably work but you're Alliance so you can't use them, I'm sure if you got a horde in there they would still work. You just can't use most mailboxes in an enemy capital city :)

The reason mailboxes don't work: it's likely a copy of the old Attack on Undercity event rather than the live city proper, as it was already empty, especially since they blocked the same entry points to start it from. During that the mailboxes weren't accessible either as I recall.

Fun fact on a year old video. The abominations were the original guards, then after battle for under city in wrath, korkron guards were stationed there because of distrust. When garrosh called them back feeling it to be a waste of the korkron time, Sylvanas reinstated the abominations

Years ago, some friends and I got out-of-bounds in Deepholm. There's a ton of "test" or "palette" chunks of terrain, with different terrain brushes and colors and stuff. I remember it being absolutely massive, there was a whole damn raid summoning people to this place. Idk if you take requests or anything, but I'd love to see you try to get out-of-bounds in Azjol-Nerub, Ahn'kahet, the train and Freya areas in Ulduar, places like that. I also managed to find some easy executable that anyone could download that just injected a little menu into WoW, this was during early Cata, it was called OHack or something and did some crazy stuff. In particular, you could toggle flight and no-clip, and I remember running way south in the Ghostlands and finding a bunch of half-finished assets, like a proto Deatholme, in the mountains towards the southeast.

The bank wall change was around the end of Vanilla, before you could not click or walk through the walls. This made it nearly impossible to access the bank as players would intentionally and incidentally cover the bankers with their bodies.

Great guide! I tried to follow it, wen up until the sewer path in 3:50, went hugging the right wall, but after a few seconds the location title said "Silverpine Forest", and got teleported out. Probably they realized it, and fixed it with a patch, so you can't see the grey wall anymore...

5:40 that giant larva-thing was removed from the city in the cataclysm, if I'm not mistaken. This means they used a copy of an older version of the city.

In hindsight, I never questioned why the forsaken and the horde set up shop and renovate in the sewers and not like the pretty much fully-intact city above ground. I mean, aesthetically it makes sense considering the name of the city and general theme going with the forsaken, but other than that there's very little practical reasoning. You could argue it's like a tactical reason like the underground chambers of the city are like a bunker of sorts, but that reason goes out the window when it's a well-known capital city that in-theory anyone can access and get into.

This is a fun video, but you're incorrect about the abom guards, which were in the game from its beginning through the beinning of Wrath. The Kor'kron guards were added (via phasing) after the player did the Wrathgate/Battle for Undercity event in Wrath of the Lich King, and the aboms were restored after Garrosh's downfall (that is, at the beginning of WoD if I remember correctly.)

Actually the Korkron guards replaced the original Abomination guards after the forsaken rebellion starting at the wraith gate and ending with the siege of Ogirmar

have you growth potted or demon huntered outside of naxx? you can get into original stratholme (and the rest of the plaguelands) and see the unpainted naxx in there :) pretty fun, there’s no mobs and there are empty towns and of course all of old strat to explore

Honestly went there today (didn't know you could travel as a ghost) and explored before realizing even as a forsaken the blight can hurt you incredibly as I thought as a forsaken you were immune. Was cool exploring the lands but I prefer it pre bombed where the entrance is still there like normal ;) also like it because I don't go "what the... hell did Sylvanas do to my home?!" when I think of the ruins lol.

Actually the abominations were the original guards til Cataclysam. Then Garrosh had the Korkron replace them because he didn't trust the Forsaken. The abominations were returned to duty after Mists and Siege of Orgrimmar.

Maybe it's a Copy of the Scenario versioon of the City, which if i recall from the Horde SideDon't work while in the Scenario. (Also Explains the Teleport Places, Magic Quarter is the part you start the Scenario in if i recall, making it "Horde Only" or something like it, Unsure)

Uh abominations guarded the undercity from vanilla up until the Wrathgate incident. The Kor'Kron guards were placed there as a security measure. They were replaced again with abominations after Siege of Origrimmar.

hmm, well horde bank is vaulty as defences in Anduins keep.. I just did pretty much walk into Anduin throne room as undead Rogue for /wave and have also video for it.. only 1 guard in Stormwind had that "could see throu stealth" thing on (good place to edit some Metal Gear stuff in xD).. most guarded place by far was Trade district.. need to try that out for Orgrimmar someday /:)
