Something that I try to do as a DM and player to get players more comfortable with roleplay: make eye contact with them while addressing their character. Look across the table at the player whose character you are addressing, make eye contact and speak as if you are your character speaking to their character. It really reinforces to that player that "oh! I am Talion!"

Awesome video topic! The part about other players contributing to the story with some good role play is super helpful. Now you just need some players who can pick up on that contribution improve and role play back!

True, if it's a newer group it might take a while for everyone to jump in. But if you lead the way and are having fun with it, I bet others will join you!

If a player explicitly says looking for a false bottom I may even not force them to do an investigation roll. Or might drop it to a simple DC of 5.

Sure, that would probably be even more fair! 😂 Was the example I thought of off the top of my head.

The part about "I" statements is great. Could even be a fun table rule to encourage RP: You can only say your character's name if your character is the one saying it in-character (like introducing yourself). Otherwise, you must say "I".

*Encourage Acting You can do voice and speak from PC’s POV and have basically zero character besides fancy decorations

What does better acting has to do with a better role play? Play acting ≠ role playing Your first take was a good one, and the rest of the video is just meh > Doing voices can help you think like your character. It’s because… Because it works for me and I have an KZbin channel. It’s been 4 years, I hope you either change your opinions on these one or came with explanation why do they work First opinion is actually good though, but then it started going south
