630 was built by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in 1904. There is no scheduled trip to Atalla at this point in time, however that may change. To check this, please go to TVRM's website for listings for all upcoming public trips. And finally yes, all shots are original with no effects or sound added.

Agreed. ...while No 630 doesn't need their help for a load this light, but mainline track time is EXPENSIVE. if the Railway wants that insurance so be it, and I will say from a safety point of view, dynamic breaking is always handy. So it's a small price to pay for me to see her on the mainlines more often, and a chance at longer trips.

No, Infact Southern Railway made many improvements, such as the famous "Southern Valve Gear" and other improvements. The Engine recently got an event recorder (An FRA requirement) and a new tender. Yes, I have gotten a ride in the cab, and on the train as well. Check out all my other videos for cab footage.

Its been a dream of mine for a while now 2 ride a steam train. Havent found one in alabama yet till i found your video showing 630 going 2 atalla alabama. Do you know if itl come back to alabama anytime this year? I agree the disels are ugly but i can see why they have em. The snow falling shots are awesome! Is it all original?

Does the whistle change on different trips? Was just watching a video from Roanoke to Vicksburg and the whistle sounds deeper.

im sorry i didnt have enough space to type what i meant. I knew your video and sounds was original. I mean is that train 100% original as it came fromn the factory in 1904. I know its been rebuilt and restored since then but as far as the bell is it the original bell that came with it and is the whistle the original one and as far as the other cosmetic parts on the outside original. O thanks for the info:) Ill check out their website:) Have you gotten to ride in the cab or ride on the train?

630 Is only capable of pulling 7-9 cars depending on the weight. That's what the engineer told me when I was there last week. I don't like the diesel's either.
