That 18th hole - the 2nd shot over the pond - says so much about Hideki's mental fortitude. What a gutsy man! Samurai Golfer, Indeed.

When things go bad then tend to take a snowball effect and it takes a PRO to grab the situation by its horns and guided the way you need to that is best to win. CONGRATS TO HIDEKI AND I ENJOYED WATCHING WHAT I THINK HAS BEEN SOME GREAT GOLF AS OF LATELY!

Hideki cans the long birdie putt on 17 to regain the lead, pipes the long dangerous drive on 18 and then nukes the approach shot over the water to 6 ft from the hole for the win all without even a hint of a smile, "pretty stoic"! That was some serious grown man golf, congrats to Hideki.

wow that's last shot to the green shows a certitude of confident champion .. it could have missed left in the water lol. What an incredible, fearless shot.

That approach shot on the 18th was mind-blowing, & the camera tracking really showed it. The ball skirted the water twice before landing within 5 ft of the hole. What an absolutely amazing tournament this was!

Excellent observation, he kinda struggles on so called easy courses and eats up the really hard ones?

Nice to get a comfortable win but how much more satisfying is it to win tough! Well played, Hideki.
Hideki clutch in the last few holes. A mark of a true champion.

Pretty impressive that he was mentally able to come back, considering his near train wreck after the turn

The body language between 7/8th hole to the18th hole after he stiffed it is palpable. His excellent play in the first 3 rounds and honestly the first 11 holes of Sunday bought him some insurance down the stretch. He can he proud of this one and the finish to reinstate his dominance. This guy is so good.

The mentality after the collapse is unreal. Had to realise he was losing it to go and won it. Unbelievable golf from the 17th tee shot. Love this golfer, what a player... Straight from Paris without the caddy 👊👊👊⛳🏌️

To not only take but also flush that final approach on 18 after losing and then barely regaining a 5 stroke lead on the back 9 can be described as nothing short of supreme confidence

7:12〜 On the 17th hole, the moment Hideki Matsuyama made a birdie putt with an AI-predicted success rate of 9%, the leaves flew away like butterflies. It was as if he were announcing, ``Hideki Matsuyama has once again broken open the gate to visit the goddess of victory!''

Calling it how I saw it. Hideki wasn’t their “ideal PGA guy” so they tried to rattle him and did a good job of it. Glad he gathered himself together and won at the end. Hats off to Hideki. Poor officiating for the referee’s. They suck this time.

You know what would be really good? Not saying who won in the title of the video, that way you'd add a little excitement to it and you'd get more clicks.
