Hidimba Devi Temple is situated in Manali hill station of Himachal Pradesh. An ancient cave temple dedicated to Devi Hidimba who married Pandava Bhima. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest. A huge rock and feet of the goddess carved on a block of stone is worshipped here in the temple. There is also a small brass idol of Devi Hidimba in this small temple with a small entrance. The temple was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553 in Pagoda style. It is said that Devi Hidimba did tapasya here and chose the path of righteousness and truth. She achieved the status of a goddess though
She was born in a rakshas Kula.
The wooden panel on the door depicts forms of Mata Durga, Mahishasurmardini, Bhagwan Shiva and Mata Parvati, Bhagwan Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi, Ganesh Ji, Shri Krishna, animals and foliate designs and Navagrahas. The temple is 24 metres tall . There is a small temple of Ghatotkach, the son of Pandava Bhima and Hidimba near this temple.
Navratri and Hidimba Devi's Birthday are celebrated here with big fairs organised.
A rich cultural and religious event with all local deities participating in the festival.
Hidimba Devi is worshipped as a guardian deity here.
