Playing hide and seek with a dog is a bit unfair not gonna lie , basically cheats with that nose

In an apartment, where everything smells like you, it is a bit more difficult for them, i guess. My corgi would sometimes check every room and hiding place twice before finding me, hiding behind a door. But when i hide treat, it takes him less than 5 minutes to find all 20 of them. Unless - and that is interesting - i hide them vertically. He apparently have some blind spots in his senses.

It's harder for them at home though. Humans tend to get their scent everywhere where they live, so it actually can confuse their sense of smell a bit. Much easier to track humans outside.

@@KeyushTheStuntDog have you tried the invisible wall trick, you strech plastic wrap across a doorway and see what he makes of it i saw sherpas parent do this thing with freezing treats and giving them to him, maybe you can do that with key and see how he reacts. also what about making a maze in the garden for him to go through, use the remains of the boxes and glue them back together, just good old fashioned white glue, not rubber cement or super glue, just white glue, and then use them to make a maze in the back yard, and say after a few months you can switch it up a bit and see if he can find his way through a new maze every few months or so, and as a reward, you could put some wafs for him to find, or maybe some peanut butter ice cubes.

K'eyush The Stunt Dog you may be able to fool his sense of smell if you have a scent, like perfume or if the soap you wash your clothes with has one added. Leave some concentrations of it in the hiding places you aren’t. If you don’t use any such products some dirty clothes may do the trick. You would still need to contend with his hearing, but I’m not sure how anyone could resist giggling when he is so silly.

Always lovely how dog owners interpret dog behaviour. This dog doesnt actually play "I'm going to search for you". It's ears and nose have found you the moment the door opens. When he's standing infront of the box doing nothing doesnt mean he didnt find you. Its more like "so I found you and what now?" :D

I admire the relationship you all have in your home. Your mother's laughter's is contagious. I found your videos when thispandemic started and since then i watch them religiously:))))). I even go to sleep while listening to some old live videos with key. You inspired me to educate my dog with kindness. Our dog, an amstaff, is very dependent on us and it was yelled at... a lot and i regret that. It loves people and adores children but cannot stay alone.
