First vidio on cleaning up wiring I've seen. Good job. Realy like the 63 Falcon. Looking forward to more of your videos.

this is great. I had a 65 Fleetwood and I've rewired from the ignition switch down and so far it hasn't burned up (stoked on that), but I do keep a fire extinguisher inside as we all should haha Anyways, this video is great as this is something on my list to cleanup! Awesome videos, great job!

The hole in the grill is for the Autronic-eye for auto-dim & Sentinel features one turned-on lights in tunnels and at dusk, the other auto-dimmed the high beams. The light sensor looked through that hole. just cover it with something black.

Ahhhhh. Yes ok. That makes sense. Thanks for letting me know! I'll just use some of that same plastic.

My go to swap for my '65s has always been the 500. but I've got a friend going SBC in his '65 and his wife's '67, so this is all helpful. I also see your kickdown switch issue (I run a 4L80 with a BOP adapter) but have you considered adding a Nitrous switch? They're easy enough to find for a Holley, and they work great as a kickdown.

I bought a micro switch, I just haven’t found a good spot to hook it up that looks clean and out of the way. These summit carbs don’t have a lot of obvious options. I’d like to get something that has a little give to it like the B&M switch so that it will kick down closer to 3/4 throttle than WOT.

@@deadwaitdesigns I can't say it would work with a Summit, as I've never used them, but the Summit design was inspired by Holley. Have you seen of the NC 15569 from Nitrous Express could mount with that carb? It should be pretty clean, as with the air cleaner on, it wouldn't even really be easily seen, because it tucks against the carb.

@@the-dullahan That looks pretty much like what I have, just without the bracket. My biggest concern is that tab bending if I got past the point of contact. Like I said, if it hits before WOT then there's still travel it has to deal with. That B&M one has a spring that eats up some of that extra movement, but it's a little pricey.

Hey, I've got a question. On your engine swap, what SBC oil pan did you use in this '65? And what trans and rear axle are you using?
@deadwaitdesigns Жыл бұрын
Hey man! I had Kevko make me a custom pan with extra clearance for the steering. I did a video about it. They based it on a nova pan and just added the little bit more that I needed. Really nice piece. Turbo 400 transmission and the stock Cadillac rear end. Drive shaft length had to be altered a little to fit. I can’t remember but I think it was shortened.
