No he can’t. Chappie here almost nicked that frame. I’ve always been a fan but he was slipping way before he got pinched.

Good watching him play, it’s been a while.

He is undoubtedly a great player, but there are many players who play just as well, if not better, than he does. His ban will be lifted in October this year. Hopefully, we will get a chance to see him play with the best players on the big stage

why is he?

@J Lee Agreed. I'm angry because of what he did, but also that he deprived the snooker world of his talent. Such a shame.

Well, only 4 years left and Lee can get on the tour. I hope he does just to wind up the snooker governing body.

yes me too. the ban was harsh and we the public end up losing out as stephen was exciting to watch.

The way he looks he needs to change to be alive in 4 years and if he is alive he has zero chance against the present players aside the occasional win when the other player is having a bad day .....the people who care about him should make him look after himself more

@Matthew Molens im Scottish and did like Higgins,but always think the same should have gotten a much harsher punishment than he did and also reckon Lee got the shitty end of the stick,I reckon a 4 or 5 year ban at most and hefty fine would suffice reckon Higgins should have got the same,I reckon there was a few of them at it but Lee was the fall guy and got caught.

@@NeilusNihilus Snooker money is not as fantastic as you think unless you're in the elite year in year out. Those in top 20-50 make between £70 and £100 thousand a year. Now that i admit is a very good living but they also need to pay their own travel and entry fees which could take 10k off that, then tax. Then you need to take form into things. You need to be able to make every tournament around the world. Then remember this isn't a job for life. How easy would it be to be in the top 20... buying a nice home, cars and give the family a certain standard of living that your success has brought... then for whatever reason having a terrible year or unable to travel and dropping way down the rankings and a huge change in earnings? I'm not justifying his actions, but it's not all big prize money. You can see how a young man with a family and commitments could be tempted by the wrong types to throw the odd frame for an easy payout. He still broke the law though and got caught. But he made a mistake. Only his mistakes are public domain.

@@Harry-jz1dn Sorry, but in his 20 years as a professional player Stephen Lee had amassed winnings of more than £2 Million (an average of more than 200k a year). He would have also earned money from sponsorship deals and other benefits. There is no excuse for what he did. I earn 20k a year for my relatively normal job but you don't see me ripping my employers off for an extra few £100.
@Harry-jz1dn5 жыл бұрын
@@rjonesbeau1 That lifestyle - and i agree with your argument btw - needs to be kept up. The mortgages, the nice cars, the healthy bank balance. The expectations from family. Larger than normal bills. Once you get yourself to that level of income... one or two bad seasons can have a HUGE effect on your budget. It's the same in most sports or even non-sport trades/sectors, etc. Snooker isn't a lifelong career either. I can see the pressure that can lead to such an act... not vindicating it. It's easy to judge from the outside, especially not being in the same situation he was in. The loss of pride if the money and lifestyle dried up and the embarrassment. it's human nature to keep up appearances so to speak.
