@@vinniehuish3987 Modern sports prototypes can reach close to 340KM, that's still fast. Again, I just like all racecars. Why is that such a problem to you? Like seriously...Has the toxic masculinity gotten so bad in the car community, that now I can't enjoy all racecars old or new, without some asshole laughing at me or making fun of me for it? Seriously man have a sense of honor...don't be a asshole.

Your comment should have 10,000 likes. I agree. Cars are so technical now that they don't even need drivers. Give me a car with a clutch and gear shifter. I love watching classic cars racing. I'm old enough to remember watching these cars and Cobras and E types and bird cage Maseratis on TV.

This is what Le Mans and Group C is about: maintaining a fast and relatively relaxed pace and the 956/962 was really, really good at it.

Nicolas Figueiredo Top speed or around a track? Cause top speed , historically LMP cars have higher top speeds
@nicolasfigueiredo84644 жыл бұрын
@@americanpride9733 Both but especially top speed. And the today's F1 cars can reach more than 370 km/h in Monza, you can take the Charles Leclerc's pole as an example. The top speed a LMP1 car could reach 2019 was only 350 km/h. I also think that WEC should return to the Green Hell
@americanpride97334 жыл бұрын
Nicolas Figueiredo Its too dangerous for cars of that speed. And the LMP1 cars would change plenty if the chicanes were dropped, going for a much lower downforce setup/build
@nicolasfigueiredo84644 жыл бұрын
@@americanpride9733 Well, I think the the Porsche 919 Evo it's a good example in modern days of security and speed. I also don't see the sportcars return to setup with too much lower downforce since the average speed in corners count too much in a fast lap

@@thethirdman225 so everyone was driving screaming flat 12s, V10s, and V8s from 1950-2010ish? That is a dumb argument for letting FIA and other sanctioning bodies selling out the sport.
@thethirdman2252 жыл бұрын
@@TheUsmc0802 It's an even dumber argument to say that we should bring old technology back into cars that are supposed to be advancing it. To remain relevant, motor racing really needs to function as a test and development role or major manufacturers will simply not want to be involved. There's no money in it otherwise.
@375GTB3 жыл бұрын
Yet a 919 would be over a minute faster.... Aero! If a 919 ran the 1967 era course It would run in a 2:15 lap Or better,, Over 200 mph AVERAGE for the 8 miles.. 160 back in 1970-1971.... Think about THAT! J.C.
@TheUsmc08023 жыл бұрын
Your not wrong but it's been done at a large expense which limited private teams from fielding them, they sound like crap, they were so expensive only 2 manufactures competed, they are boring to watch, and they killed the class. I'd rather have 10 962/956 on track than 2 porsche only 919s.
