Kyle Higashioka has a historic day as he becomes the 5th catcher since 1961 with multiple caught stealing (2) and a home run in the same inning. Fernando Tatis Jr., Xander Bogaerts and Ha-Seong Kim each collect a stolen base. Joe Musgrove pitches six innings with 7 Ks and the San Diego Padres defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2, closing out the first home stand of the year with a win.

Kyle Higashioka made HISTORY today. In the 4th inning he threw out two base runners trying to steal, then in the bottom half of the inning he hit a solo HR for his first hit as a Padre. A catcher throwing out two runners and hitting an HR in the same inning hasn't been done since Ben Molina did it 2000. WAY TO GO KYLE, welcome to San Diego.

The Cardinals barking in the 8th about the two HBPs is baffling to me. Sure, of course no one wants to get hit and I understand the danger, but a two run game in the 8th and you put the first two hitters on and you’re pissed? It’s obvious the balls got away and I know they don’t think it’s intentional so wtf are you barking for then. Batters get hit, it happens get over it, were they seriously that offended in a close game, where getting hit meant more to them than the opportunity come back in the game… I’m shockeddddd they didn’t tie it up there, get over it.
