This is one of the most interesting conversations i´ve heard in the longest time. I am a huge fan of Jesse's playing. I remember him answering my email 20 something years ago, such an inspiration! he mentioned Peter Bernstein too, i was really happy when PB became involved with the conservatorium van Amsterdam. I love that this features a part with his solo on "one", a soundtrack to a major part of my life, my early years discovering jazz.

Thank you for validating the no-drums aesthetic. The most-compelling musical experience I've EVER had was a duo: the great Ed Bickert and a bass player. Drums would have ruined it, but Ed was hip enough to have anticipated that.
