Once went to a party my freshman year of college and was told there was a pan of weed brownies over on the table. I hadn’t had a weed brownie before so I didn’t know how it would affect me. I had one, waited for an hour, nothing. I had another, waited another hour, still nothing. I had a third one just before leaving and stopped to thank the host before heading out. I told him I had three brownies, at which point he freaks out and asks how I’m doing. I tell him I’m not feeling a thing and he pauses, looks at me for a second, and asks where I got the brownies from. I point at the snacks table and he just sighs. Turns out the pot brownies were by the bar and I just had regular brownies.

@@Sceptile29 The thing with edibles is that firstly they get you really _really_ high, like "this isn't fun anymore" high, and secondly, they take about half an hour to kick in, because you have to digest them, so if you don't know your tolerance it's very easy to take _way_ too much. Joints kick in almost immediatly so it's much easier to control how high you're getting. There's a reason every weed horror story you've ever heard involves edibles.

@@EdenLippmann seconding this! It's way easier to control how high you get, whereas with edibles it's kind of up to the luck of the draw (even with ones you get from a dispensary. I've had good and bad times with pieces from the same chocolate bar). And a tip - vaping is better than a joint, imo. Much less abrasive on the throat/lungs. It is more expensive though

I was a teen when icarly was on so it's one of the shows I have nostalgia for, but I haven't rewatched it in like 5 years. I also watched victorious too, but I drew the line at Sam and Cat because that's when I became "too old" for the shows. Great work with this video! It's up there in quality along with the thumbelina animated. Speaking of, are you done using textures when it comes to characters/objects? I really liked the texture that the frogs had in the thumbelina video and haven't seen anything like it since then.

My first weed story happened a few weeks ago. I'm a late weed bloomer bc I was too straight edge to try it for most of my life. I did not enjoy the experience. I took a gummy at a bachelor party, and my high progression went like... I first got really pushy and kept saying "Dude I can totally take another edible, I'm not feeling a thing. Give me another gummy." Thankfully, they did not. We got into the hot tub to chat and I first noticed it kicking in myself when I kept becoming mesmerized by watching and feeling the foamy bubbles form on the surface of the water. I entered my giggling phase then and kept trying to explain to everyone in the hot tub that "Inside my head, I'm still totally intelligent. I can think smart thoughts, but when I open my mouth I can only be stupid." For the record, this was absolutely untrue. I was most definitely mentally handicapped by the edibles. There WAS a weird phenomenon where I was slightly more intelligent inside my head before I spoke out loud and said dumb things, but it was only a marginal difference. Everyone else thought it was hilarious though that I kept trying to explain what it was like to them as earnestly as possible even though it just came out as the ravings of a mad man. After a while of this, I began to have a fever and a horrible headache, so I got out, dried off, and went to lay in bed for a while. The guys came in and checked on me and brought me some water, telling me I'd need it, and asked me if I wanted anything. We had a small conversation here when one of them said "Hey Geoff, what's 10x10?" To which I replied "Oh fucking easy dude that's 100, I'm not a fucking dumbass. I can still do mathematical calculations with ease, I just can't communicate right now because everything turns stupid when it leaves my brain and exits my mouth." They were bracing themselves against the wall laughing at my idiocy, which was hilarious in retrospect, but at the time I had got to the phase of my high where I was getting really paranoid and anxious and so I thought they hated me and were laughing at the fact that the weed had ruined my ability to communicate (The whole time from start to finish I was actually slightly terrified on and off in waves as I recognized that I was handicapped cognitively but couldn't do anything about it, and I hated the feeling). I resolved to pretend to be asleep so that when they shit talked me in the other room I could hear them and prove to myself that they hate me. They didn't. In fact, they told everyone to keep it down so no one bothered me while I was sleeping and asked around for some aspirin in case I still had a bad headache when I woke up since I had denied needing any before they left. They then just had normal conversations and hung out while I sat there thinking to myself that obviously they were faking and eventually they would reveal their hate for me. For the record, I have no idea where this came from because even though I wasn't SUPER good friends with them (they're part of my brother in law's friend group, and actually we got much closer on the trip and still keep in touch and stuff) we all had fun together and liked to hang out. Anyways, at some point, I realized that I was thinking that way because of the weed, and started thinking about how it had altered me and how I would explain it to other people. This eventually lead me to thinking about how they probably hate me, and thus the cycle would begin anew and I had depressive thought spirals for a solid hour while my heartbeat thundered in my ears and my head felt like a freight train was dancing a jig inside of it. They checked in on me from time to time (I had committed to pretending to be asleep so they would usually just say "Yeah he's totally out dude... Nah, it looks like he still has water. I'll ask if he needs an aspirin when he wakes up." or something to that effect, and then going back to hang out. Near the end of my high I elected to open my eyes (I had begun to let a little logic back into my thoughts and realized that it was shitty and messed up to think that way about the boys) and start giving one word responses (I had a super dry mouth and was conserving moisture instead of just drinking more water) and doing thumbs ups when people came to check on me. After another half hour or so of that I finally got up to discover that a lot of time had passed and I had been remarkably stupid for most of it. It was really bizarre how quickly I came back to 100% cognitive ability after the relatively slow recovery up to say 80%. Once I got up, had some water, and walked into the other room to say hi I basically rubbed the metaphorical sleep out of my eyes and suddenly snapped back to feeling normal. I shared this story with them and they reassured me and were talking me up. One of the guys said he hated weed because he always had the same experience I just did and at that point I decided I wouldn't try it again. I'm still a little pissed that I didn't get to listen to any of my favorite prog rock songs while zooted outta my gourd though.

I always get disappointed when I hear a story about someone never smoking, then doing edibles instead. It's always one of their friend's suggestions and that is a terrible friend. Clearly there are other (better) friends that know better. Ross did it to Arin, Dan knew better. Someone (Spencer?) did it to Karina, Jacob and Nathan knew better. I hope somebody out there is learning the right lesson from all this.
