WD40 on the rubber hangers help make it alot easier to remove then as well.

Yup, good tip! Unfortunately, I was out. WD40 seems to disappear. 🤔🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣

The muffler on my 19 JLUR was beat to shit on the rocks. I had a muffler shop fab a connection onto a low profile Magnaflow muffler and there is no additional sound and the muffler is out of the way and exits out the back of the wheel well. Much happier. Great video.
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are a few options to get rid of the factory muffler. I don't like the sound of the "delete", and wanted a somewhat different sound. Thanks for watching, Bob!!👍🏻🤘🏻

Those rubber hangers come right off with a little WD-40 or equivalent. No reason to cut anything. Spray WD-40 at the clamp locations as well, they will slip right off with a little twisting. These exhaust systems definitely add sound, but don't offer any real performance gains. Same thing with the so called "cold air intakes" absolutely minimal at best, they just add noise under the hood. The high clearance part of the exhaust is definitely nice. I put one on my JK just for that reason. I like not having the big factory muffler, but the highway drone is annoying.
@ShockWaveOffroad2 жыл бұрын
True story! I actually did a video on cold air intakes and whether or not they were worth the expense. I'd say we're in agreement. That said, since a new exhaust was needed, the minimal performance gained was worth the tradeoff in expense. Appreciate your insight and opinion. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻

Sounds good. I went with the Dynomax muffler delete. Only cost $100 and isn’t to loud at all. Not sure if it’s the factory change in the Y-pipe from the Jk to the JL or what. JK’s are obnoxiously loud with the muffler delete and that just isn’t the case on JL’s.
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
True statement. My JK was L O U D. And, I didn't like the way it sounded. I considered the delete, but in the end I'm happy with my choice...... for now.😏

Sounds really good but I have a quick question. Why did you decide to mount your rear track bar backwards?
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
🤔🤔🤔🤔 Short answer is that I wasn't aware that I had mounted it backwards. But, being that it was the last thing I installed when I put the lift on and just ready to be done, at this point, I'm not going to argue with you. I may very well have, and just didn't notice. I'll check it out Monday cuz I'm working this weekend. 👍🏻
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity, I watched the vid again and looked at the track bar. Technically, it's not "backwards", but it IS upside down!🙄🤣🤣🤣 Nice catch, thanks for pointing it out! I'll have to fix that!👍🏻🤘🏻
@kirbytheap3 жыл бұрын
@@ShockWaveOffroad I’ve actually seen others install them wrong. It makes sense when they realize those clearance bends should be installed on the axle side and are meant to clear the exhaust pipe. If you rotate it like your suggesting, you run the risk of the trackbar making contact with the body.
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
Well, now I know it's not right. I'll look at it Monday and adjust as necessary. Again, thanks for pointing it out!😁👍🏻

Do you guys get winters and salt in NC? Wondering how well itll hold up to rust being 409 SS
@ShockWaveOffroad3 жыл бұрын
Where I live, winters are slim to none. Very little snow. But, when it is in the forecast, the state brines the roads just like up north. Problem is, it ALWAYS rains before it snows, so all the brine gets washed away, LOL! Generally speaking, most exhaust systems are made from the same material. I'd feel confident in saying that this kit will last SEVERAL years in northern winters. Thanks for watching, and the question!

No. This is specific to the JL 2 door. But, if you go to the Flowmaster website, they DO make them for JKUR. Write down part number, then go to eBay and buy it cheaper.😎👍🏻
