Pretty serene camping out by a creek in the country. You can pack a fair bit of stuff on your bike. When I went camping we needed a van. Thanks for putting together this video. The tablelands are another beautiful part of Australia and if we can enjoy time there it’s a blessing.

No worries Karl, they're fun to do, and put together 👍 Definitely economy packing on a bike- everything needs be well thought out. But there's joy in being a minimalist

Awesome trip. I've just come back from a solo 3000km ride on roads similar to the ones you chose. I normally do these trips with a mate or two but surprisingly loved the freedom that being alone offers. Thanks for the great video and the work that went into creating it.
@MidCoastAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks volvogt21 😎👍 3000 kays is an awesome escape ride, I'm keen to do longer ones to more remote places. Being alone is interesting hey, compared to having a few mates - lot of time to get lost in your own thoughts. Cheers mate 👍

@@MidCoastAdventures and to make matters better it was my first trip on my DR650. Normally these sort of trips are done on an 1200gs. I loved the back to basics riding and the slower pace of the DR. You have me desperate to hit the road again. Forgot to add it was so good that you included the route map and the road names in your video. I'm always on the lookout for interesting roads as my riding is always about the journey and not the destination.

Nice one mate, where you stopped at the corner of Coramba Rd at Megan, if you had turned right family farm is just around the bend 👍 Better get a few more camps in as only a month and half of frosts up there lol

Beautiful camp site Phil. I've had some close calls with logging trucks around Taree and your right, they don't slow down or move over!
@MidCoastAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Surprised they don't kill more motorbike riders. Totally reckless, think they own the trails and only seem to care about getting back for another load of timber. Them and kids with big 4WD's the two scariest things we are liable to encounter out riding.

How good are the twisties, scarier in real life that platform at apsley falls. Another good video Phil, cheers for the serenity 👍

Great video Phil - man you do find some great places to make camp! It was something like my 5th visit to the Apsley Falls before I crossed that bridge and did the walk around the other side of the gorge - well worth it! I'm gonna be hopefully staying at Walcha on May 4th on my return leg of my big trip to Coonabarabran and back - I'm very tempted now to follow your tracks from this video on my way back North-East after that. Haven't got a solid plan yet - maybe make it all the way to Racecourse beach... not sure. Maybe see ya at some point I hope.
@MidCoastAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David 😎👍 Was keen to keep waling over the bridge at Apsley Falls, but kinda run out of time- hence the camp spot at 7 pm... Guess I'll do it next ride up there 👍 See how my travels are going, might be able to meet up and cover some country when you are in Walcha. Well worth the sheep station run I did to get north. Keep going (and link up with Kookabookra then Pinkett Rd) and you'll pop out near you'll pop out near Glen Innes 😎
