I moved to Canada as a photographer, I didn't expect anything, as I live in a small town, I thought even to change the field of activity, but it turned out that you can earn good money, because everyone needs quality photos and new interesting vision 🙌 Good luck to everyone in finding a job!

My son who is in university computer science could not find a summer job or intern position. He is bright and motivated. Recently there have been many lay-offs in the tech sector. Hard to believe this video mentioned this field many times.

A caveat not specifically addressed in this video is that nobody wants to hire newbies. Employers want someone with experience, they don't want to spend time on training; so the onus of figuring out how to get experience is on us ( via personal projects, pro-bono work or volunteering)

@taizai8292 highly recommend for your son to work on side projects he can use as experience and portfolio. The market for juniors is tough these days, but a lot of networking, getting involved in hobby projects with others, and a little bit of luck can go a long way. All the best!

I live in BC and have access to all test results and specialist reports along with the ability to book appointments online. I find this functionality very beneficial in that I can research test findings and have informed questions ready for when I meet the Docs. You failed to mention that its not easy to get an apprenticeship for a trade like an electrician. That is the bottleneck that would prevent most students from becoming a electrician. It was funny to hear that electricians are a sought-after profession. Where? I work as an electrician in Ontario, I live in Toronto. We have never had so little work as in 2024, in neighboring companies specializing in electrical installation, the same thing and even worse. Where does the information about the demand for specialists in 2025 come from? Rather, there are not enough sites than electricians
@MakeThatChange
@MakeThatChange 4 ай бұрын
What is your specialization and level of experience? This data comes from official province of Ontario reports, rate of new job postings online and general statsCanada data. Residential and commercial may be oversaturated in Toronto, so experience and skill is key to have a steady flow of work. Residential construction has also slowed so less new residential work is available overall. There is a shortage of high skilled electricians in BC, oil fields/mines in AB and North Ontario. Niagara/Hamilton region needs a thousands of industrial electricians. This data is also predictive, there are nearly 80k electricians retiring in the next 5 years, someone will need to take their spots.

Thanks for the informative video. I have an important question. For Health Information Management: 1 - What percentage gets a job after graduation? 2 - Among those who succeeded gey a job, what percentage gets full-time/part-time? 3 - Is the job opportunity full-time given to those who, before graduation, were already working somewhere like hospitals, clinics, etc, as a clerk or something? (I mean the chance of getting full-time job with good salary belongs only to those being at work in a job position related to health information management?

Everything is so expensive in Canada, that these 70k to 100k salaries are lower middle class now, and barely surviving type of earnings. You can't really pay off a condo in 10-15 years, like 2 decades ago, never mind a house. My uncle bought a condo 20 years ago in Toronto, and paid 200 k for it. His wage was 20hr. Now this condo is 600 k, and his salary at best 30/hr. Todays generations must work so much more, that life becomes very bleak in general compared to earlier generations.

@@MakeThatChange Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Live at the outskirts of the city on a nice piece of land. Planting trees and vegetables. Last time I was in Toronto a few months back ago, it seemed that wages have not moved while everything else got more expensive. The insurance they were charging me for a Honda CRV on a clean driving abstract was outrageous($350) a month. The last time I had a fender bender was 2015. So I put the car on a boat, and now I'm paying 50 bucks driving on Canadian plates (with a 2 million Euro bodily injury clause). Hope things get better in Canada, but it will take a decade for any meaningful change. Cheers.
