Hey there thanks for the tutorial i really appreciate but i would like to know how about when am using just an image that i downloaded from Instagram, which might not be 8bit, 16bit or any other, do i still use the same blending mode

Why would you download an image from instagram? The resolution would definitely be so low for you to do proper skin retouching
