Such a great video. I rarely am impressed enough by these videos to comment, but you made this rudimentary enough to be very enticing.

This video helped me to under the purpose of the oscillator and how it works. I have my state exam approaching and I feel much better now to answer questions regarding this. Plus it helped to better understand the changes that would need to be made to increase/decrease pCO2 and p02. THANK YOU!!!!

So MAP is low? At 9:39 you discuss high MAP as part of HFOV. I must be missing something.
@richie52007 жыл бұрын
z040812 MAP has to be high in order to improve oxygenation. Good catch
@rexflores84615 жыл бұрын
I'm also confused but I think the reasoning is because the Tidal volume is low so when he's refereeing to the low MAP it is in reference to the amount of MAP needed to achieve a higher Tidal volume and when he refers to a high it is in reference to proportion of MAP to Tidal volume being higher than normal but also low since TV is low. The higher MAP promotes better lung recruitment for gas exchange and the higher Fio2 compensates for the deadspace ventilation.

Khalsa Al Siyabi It is nice to hear from a fellow ventilation fan. Are you a student or practicing? I'm always interested in who and where there are practicioners of the ventilator arts, allan.prost@sait.ca Al
