Yes, I agree. I use 1.74 index for -10.5 D. Front view is very transparent but sideview actually tells the other person that I am wearing high power 😭Thinking of switch to contact lens 😂.

Depends on frame type, shape and size. 1.6 will also suffice. Maximum 1.67. 1.67 & 1.7 won't have an appreciable difference in thickness, but big difference in price.

@@nobitanobi1514 I am not sure of that. But being glass it's high abbe value. Aur agar optical centre aur pupillary centres match kar ke fitting karenge toh mujhe nahi lagta, power bahut zyada badhna chahiye. Power badhna patient to patient alag hoga. Patient profile, corneal thickness, progressive myopia hai ya nahim etc. etc. But what majorly I've noticed is that, especially in cases of high Rx and SV lenses, if fitting is as per optical and pupil centre, and not according to geometric centre of frame, then chances of increase in refractive error is reduced. Or the increase is not in high jumps.

Yes, CYL power hain to thickness pe effect hoga. I suggest you use 1.8 high index for -5.5. cost ayega more than ₹5000.
