If I'm not mistaken at 1:25:00 you can't attack directly since you activated s:p effect to banish from grave, the card states that your monsters can't attack directly "this turn" and not "for the rest of the turn"

probably just someone having fun and saw no hand traps and just wanted to keep playing. He def over extended turn 1 of game 1 with the maximus play had no reason to activate maximus like he said he already had cartesia access and quem access so it was just a bit of over extending.
