@@Emr7c0 movie was super slow and weird. Fake deep. Weird dad daughter stuff. Poor things is a movie that was very raunchy yet super good at the same time. This was just eh and the ending feels so pointless, makes u feel like you wasted your time. Also, they show a baby’s vagina.. which is just, so, unnecessary. Idk why ppl think that “indie artistic” movies mean how much inappropriate stuff can you shove in front of a camera in a 1.5 hour timeframe. Like when i watch movies like this, i end up feeling like i got 20 unsolicited dick pics at once. I didnt need to nor consent to witness it. For those wonedering: This film is the kind of movie that highly depends on your mood. You can either love it or hate it depending on how you feel about the themes this film portrays. In terms of acting, surprisingly it has a great acting from Robert Pattinson, perhaps one of his bests performances to date, meanwhile the rest of the cast while having a solid acting doesn't really shine as much as this guy did -no pun intended-. Anyho' I don't wanna spoil anything, but this is the kind of movie that the rating is mostly up to the viewer and I encourage people to watch it just to at least remove the Twigligth veil from Robert.

Pretty good for such a small budget. Veteran French filmmaker Claire Denis said, "I can do sci-fi!" and she did. The actors make it work, as it is a bleak, brutal story in a a hospital/prison-like space. Also good to see a sci-fi film acknowledge that light speed is probably not possible. It was actually so boring, liking weird stuff simply because they’re weird doesn’t make one cool nor interesting. Many good indie movies out there, many good indie movies with Robert Pattinson in them out there, this is not one. From a literary perspective, so many criticisms. I guess the shots were cool? Nothing mind blowing. Boyse’s black hole scene was lazy cgi and scientifically incorrect. Many sins in this movie. Including unfinished plot lines (and im not just talking about the ending). They used that guy in the train to provide exposition. Who, the hell, was that guy 😂 you can’t just throw random people in for exposition. ESPECIALLY when they also used NARRATION. Rob did the narrating, and provided so much exposition that way (which is honestly a sin), but for that one bit of info, they needed to invent a random character, that the plot never returns to?? Ugh i could nerd on forever. The biggest sin for me: showing a baby’s vagina when it was absolutely unnecessary to. “Indie” “Artsy” “Cool” has lost its meaning when all it stands for is “how much inappropriate stuff can you shove in the viewers face in 1.5 hrs” while also having a plot that ranges on a spectrum of none-terrible. A24 shoves out a ton of this lazy weirdness, but they have a few that are certified bangers. And guess what. Those directors actually get to move on and do more stuff. Bc they’re good. But these “A24” nerds will say “aw they went mainstream.” I mean i guess if theres an audience for it… also the guy above me who said “there are worse things on the internet” (i bet he would know) but lmao just cuz theres worse stuff doesn’t mean ppl should watch this. Anyway lemme stop here lmao

It’s almost as if A24 can do no wrong. Quietly and persistently calling cinema to its higher self, even when it missteps. May it keep its inner workings happy and enlightened so they can keep on at it.

Well they can go wrong sometimes (like in this movie). They have lots of great films but also bad ones too.

a masterpiece 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Mia Goth shines so beautiful and there’s some mesmerizing sequences I won’t never forget and I’m totally fine with that. Robert Pattinson sings very well tho those credits are a delight. don’t miss this one.

First off, this trailer looks great. Gives you a basic idea of the movie without going too much into the plot of it, allowing you to be hooked into this and wonder where it’ll go. Second, seems like the Hereditary Trailer Thing of quickly and slowly increasing intense sounds throughout the trailer seems to be catching on quite a bit. Interesting stuff.

Honestly me and my gf don’t understand what this movie about. They didn’t explain anything, putting my interest away from this movie. ...pass
@kimlinden2280 Жыл бұрын
@@Panda_J1 Some foreign directors tend to "explain less" so viewers think about what they saw. Endings are not always wrapped up in a tidy manner. Which is different from many US directors and I really appreciate that there are differences. Contemplating the movie, afterwards, adds to the appeal for me. It warrants a 2nd viewing.

It officially gets released in April. Hopefully they’ve worked the kinks out of it and have the best version they can get, since I do want that to at least be decent. And the reviews from Cannes have me worried.

I’ve seen it, it’s GREAT! But I can tell some ppl won’t get it and that may make them not like it.. it’s over 2 hours so I hear they are cutting it down, so technically I saw the directors cut.

@@heymistercarter. It's a very good movie but def not for everyone... If you like David Lynch film style but with a comic aspect

Willow Where are you hiding now Willow Where are you hiding now In the light in the tree Spiders and a centipede Crawl across your hands Across your knees Willow Do you walk across the sand Willow Till the waves crash and fall And their fingers tickle At your feet [?] Do you feel that rushing forward Though you're standing still Willow Are we rushing forward, are we standing still? Willow Are we rushing forward, are we standing still? Willow Do you crouch among the rooftops Willow Listening to a city wheezing And your dreams they stretch Beyond the clouds and pass the moon Until the stars feel the rushing forward Though you're standing still Willow Are we rushing forward, are we standing still? Movies need to make moves like this. The tired and tested formulas for what makes a great movie no longer apply when the majority of viewers see them as pure escapism. Once upon a time movies were a reflection of what we are.
