Congratulations on your home purchase! As for pulling your card, all you are doing is costing yourself comp points. My information is from a slot manager (Coushatta Casino in Kinder Louisiana) and slot machine designers I have talked with. As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.

Congrats on your new home adventure. I just wanted to let you and others know that taking your card out doesn't do anything because that part of the slot machine has nothing to do with the part we play. It's 2 separate entities. All you do is not get the comp points you would have gotten had you been playing with it in. We all fall for myths if something happens when we do something different.
