If you're doing often of this you should get an arborist's throw bag. If pack weight is an issue you can make one with some suitable cloths and some found sand.

great video - it might blow your mind to see how we trained tree climbers can rig lines like this using thin spectra line, a small throwbag, good technique. You can get to 60 ft. lots of fun tricks can be done as well. Also, there are rope throwing techniques that can get you to 20+ feet with literally just a rope.
