I am happy you are getting a good Oat Crop. I never planted Oats too deep. Something must have come loose I think. Can those side bushings be changed out?
@millionairefarmer.3 ай бұрын
@@gilreynolds9282 good evening, I think I will be working the oats land a bit more going forward and seeding a little deeper. As far as the bushings they could be worn for sure, seem to be all good after a retorque.

@@millionairefarmer.nice, we finally got the peas dry enough to combine yesterday, but are only a third done. Finish later this week now. My oats will probably start on the weekend.

I think fall work is important. Lets the water go in on the melt that would normally run off. I've had no light bushel weights this year and so far decent yields.

It’s the plowing, broke up the compaction. For interest sake one time, try plowing some of a stubble field and compare it to the rest. Think you’ll find the results surprising. We don’t plow anymore, but I remember as a kid and when I first started farming, the plowed stuff always yielded better than the stuff that we only disced and cultivated.
@millionairefarmer.3 ай бұрын
@@chadtosh6831 we have plowed a few cereal fields over the years can’t say I noticed a big difference. Probably good to turn up some new land every once in a while though

@@millionairefarmer.the continual grain crops are hard on the land, sure wonder what would happen if a guy rotated the odd clover crop through? I sold clover seed before, easy to get rid of and pays well compared to grain most years. I always seems to bale it up for cow hay mostly though cause it yields well.
@jeremycherny20413 ай бұрын
@chadtosh6831 I've plowed wheat stubble down and definitely had a better year for the next 3 years. But now I'm using a lot of fert to get the same results

That oars crop is lucky if it’s 100. Never mind 179 by per acre It looks light. Combine yield monitor aren’t at all accurate till they are calibrated. I would have put lock tight on the bolts holding your shoe.
@millionairefarmer.3 ай бұрын
@@EvanC8 we did end up putting lock tight on the bolts. I always find it funny when people comment about things like yield or reel speed on videos. Anyone who has ever watched a farming video should understand it is very hard to tell those things from the video.

Our Oats doing great. So had too just.. See how fast I.... Filled the hopper empty to droppin on the cab with a 9770 STS in 11 minutes flat with the topper Morgan Oats... OATS there great no green there September 2nd testing 12.4 moisture but had to go around other many peat areas in fields... The tank monitor bell went off at 4.5 minutes and again full at 9 minutes.. About 4.0 to 4.6 MPH.. 30 foot header. and no green. Very Clean field oats in 2023 also but dry year peat did great then also.Them peat areas I went around just sprayed for dry down no doubt will run in the ?? mid 200's 4 feet + tall like hair on a dogs back and not lodged to bad!!
