My daughter had this playing as I walked her down the aisle, she knew how much I loved this piece.

A bugler played this at my wedding. Still makes my hair stand on end, just like the first time I heard it played whilst on parade at Alanbrooke Barracks, Paderborn in 1992.

Served with the 1st Battalion in Berlin as a Warrant Officer in REME and am proud to have done so, I remember this piece of music being the centrepiece of a celebration after the demise of the 'wall' and prior to the 1st Battalions return to the UK with the bugles located around and above the parade square in Wavell Barracks, a stunning performance and remembered to this day and for the future.

Exactly the same with me - always well-up with pride when the haunting sound of the bugles comes in. I first knew this when I bought the massed bands of the Light Division LP from the regimental shop in Winchester back in '87.

This takes me back to Cyprus when the band played this at Curium Amphitheatre near Episkopi in (I think) 1982. Everyone sat enthralled for this, and it was made all the more spectacular by the lightning storm going on in the background over Akrotiri bay! Some memories stay forever - and that night was one of them.
