I love skating too, when I started I wish I had friends to skate with me. it's going on two years and I still skate by my self but that's ok some of the people the skating ring is pretty cool...

I absolutely love skating. I got back into it in my 40's and there is a freedom and feeling of pure joy when I skate. Something powerful in the act of throwing your fear to the side and embracing the moment. Skating has allowed me to practice the art of embracing my fear (will I fall, can I go backwards, can I do that move) and live more in that moment. And the skating community is one of the most colorful and accepting people I have ever met. I am so grateful I found this beautiful community of people. Keep on skating ya'll. :)

I agree with you! 🥰 It’s been 4 mths and we’re in love! While not everyone there may have a pleasant vibe (kid party attendees for example lol) those who are there to actually skate are quite pleasant. I find that men are more inviting than women, in some instances, but that could very well just be my experience, so far. I’ve met lovely women as well. My whole family, husband and 4 children, are all learning and relearning (husband) how to skate and I believe it’s a til death type of situation 😂. Happy skating!!!

I started skating so i can do something for myself that doesn’t require friends.... it was annoying waiting for others to confirm with anything. That’s why I love skating because you can do it by yourself and for no one else!

I must say watching this makes me remember when I was growing up in the 90s and we would go roller skateing on the weekends and would listen to the loud music and hang with all diffrent people and ages,it was alot of fun and I remember feeling very free and happy rolling around,good times! That was amazing. I’m only 13 and I have an intense passion for skating. Loved this!! I have been roller skating for years and I used to be a skate guard at a rink while I was in college. I could use it to practice skating because I had a key and it was my job. So Yeah I used to skate professionally 😎🤷‍♀️ I bought a pair of skates with light up wheels. ❤️❤️❤️ last year during pandemic because the gym shut down... then I moved to SF area. @@mignondee Hi, Waiting on Yah's Lead!! I started for like two days (five feet is the furthest I can go). I then found out I had a brain aneurysm. I just had surgery to fix it like one month and two weeks ago. It was found on time and I have been healing. My dream, my wish, is to start skating, funny how your post showed up on my email. I am going to put my skates in my car today, and I have found a nice basketball court with green on asphalt (I am not sure what it is called, it looks safe) where I am going to skate today. I also found a indoor skate place like two miles from where I live and on Thursdays is adult skating, I am guessing the lights are low and older music, I am in!!! I need to embrace life with this new chance God gave me. Wow!! I posted the post a year ago! I could be skating backwards by now, lol. I even wrote in my journal that I want to skate like a week ago, just got confirmation from you, thank you!!! Hope you have a blessed day and thank you for asking. P.S. I also got elbow pads and knee pads and a helmet.

Sorry you were run off like that. It was actually a different guy that you're referring to. Not this guy. Despite there being no sign, it is legally a roller skating area per SF Parks & Rec.. It's the only place we have to roller skate safely.

That one guy with the Mohawk punched me in the face repeatedly when I first came out there. I said hey cut it out I am not into that. So it’s cool. You just have to be explicit about what you like and don’t like and wear clothes there and you will be OK. And don’t choose the blue pill, k? 😂🌈👍🏻
