My two cents: I am a cyber security engineer at a massive fortune 50 company. We NEED more cyber security folks desperately all the time. Pay is great (typically at least 80k) and you can often get a job with only a couple certs that you can do in a couple months. It's a great job, very happy I got into the field.

Man thank you for sharing! I agree, there are people who are getting into cybersecurity in 90 days getting the COMPTIA NETWORK+ and the SECURITY+ certs and getting in that way.

I got my cert from course careers for sdr but found it so hard to land a job. I’m still at the post office over a year later and I’m looking for ways to get in still. However, I find it extremely difficult!

I will say it’s simple but not easy. You have to be willing to really work for what you want. The upside in the role is really high in a relatively short period of time you have to work to get it done. But I’ll say there are people everyday still posting about the new role that they’ve gotten in tech with no experience on LinkedIn. If you still want it, it’s still out there✌🏾

I didn’t finish the course and found a job in sales from what I learned. Not tech sales, but inside sales. but it is possible I look to move into tech next. Check your resume there is a KZbin page called “ A Life After Layoff” and polish your interview skills. That KZbin page I mentioned gave me a lot of overall experience on how to navigate jobseeking and corporate environments.
