I have been looking for this solution for almost an entire year. Literally NO ONE ELSE that I have found has made a walkthrough tutorial about how to set up the mirrors like this (singular mirrors? Yeah, plenty of videos of that. Function to turn off one mirror when the other is turned on? Nothing). I've been wracking my head over this problem for so long as I know absolutely zero about how to code, and you come swooping in with this beauty of a vid. It works perfectly THANK YOU ;;

Well, it would have worked the very first time, but my toggles were imported from Blender and I forgot to assign collision to them. Other than that it worked instantly. Thank you again so much!

I am still used to the old system and have no idea of coding so Udon so I understand almost nothing anymore and everything looks so complicated for a dummy like myself. So I just want to thank you for this easy mirror tutorial, it helped me alot. ☺

Because I keep running into this issue: after making the Udon Graphs, go select your objects that you're using for buttons. Double check that the public variables are the high quality mirror and low quality mirror, instead of the object itself! If the public variables aren't the correct mirrors, drag the correct mirror from your hierarchy to the public variable slot. For some reason, whenever I follow this tutorial, the high quality button decides to turn itself on and off instead of the mirrors. The low quality button doesn't. It's an easy fix, but still odd that it happens in the first place.

Awesome, this worked very well when I tried it. I also renamed the references in Udon Graph to Primary and Secondary mirror. This way, the script can be reused by assigning the correct references in the inspector for each button.

Very helpful, thank you. I've seen some people make their LQ mirrors just place a "cut out" of a person's avatar on the wall/object behind the mirror (rather than the sky box) and I think that's really cool. Do you know how to do that? I am unsure what it is called.

You have so many more reflection settings than I do. I literally can't make a LQ mirror because the options simply aren't there.

hii i love your tutorial, also i found a easier way to do the udon graph when you do the same on the other button you just copy the code in udon graph and paste it in the other button, then you dont have to do all the stuff over again :D

I'm having a problem with my mirrors being on as soon as I enter room, I can toggle them off when I get to them but then I have another problem when I walk in front of mirror after toggling mirror off it turns on automatically when it registers my avi....please help

This helped so much when I started working on my world, but I think my SDK updated and now those options at 2:00 are gone now... instead of giving all those options, it only gives me "Nothing / Everything / Default / TransparentFX / Ignore Raycast / Water / UI". Did I do something? I didn't request my sdk to update nor change anything else to my beliefs. Update: I learned what happened, but now I'm stuck. I learned ALL my Layers inside "Project Settings: Tags and Layers" disappeared. Is there a way to restore that?

Not sure if you're still struggling with this, but it's an easy fix, so I decided to put it here for anyone else who's having the same problem. Make sure you have a VRC Scene Descriptor script somewhere in your project, then open up your VRChat SDK Control Panel. Once opening the builder, you should get a prompt that says 'Setup Layers for VRChat'. Click on the prompt and it'll put in all the layers you need!

What if I have more than one other thing I don't want to be on? For example, I have different light colors, and I only want one to be on and the others to be off, so how do I add multiple other objects to make sure they stay off while one is active?

I found a solution. For each other object you want off while one is on, just add another setActive, connect the next object to it, and connect the previous setActive to the new one.

Lol my mistake was duplicating the object that already had Udon, that made that the game was applying both instance (mirror HQ and LQ) at the same time and made even the button disappear lol

I tried this and when I tested it out the mirrors were still turned off and then I pressed the buttons and then went away and didn’t change anything sadly
