Jimmythy I they def exist, not as much nowadays but I can definitely say years ago when Nike first started branching into skating and SLS was first being made people were pissed. There was def a battle between “real skating” and corporate company’s trying to profit off of skating and I can say that Nike put many skater owned companies out of business but u can’t blame skaters for wanting to get paid. Nowadays people like Nyjah lives a rapper lifestyle from skating and I’m glad that skaters can actually make a living from being pro skater

@@joshuadesellier6738 who are the best pros that are barely known?? Rob has given back to his community, made a skate plaza and created a skate league to help bring money into the sport. Whether you like him or not, he is giving others an opportunity to make money skateboarding. That shouldn't be seen as a negative, who the fuck wouldn't want to make a living on something they love.

SUCH AN AMAZING VIDEO!! I'm thankful you weren't like some and highlight his "failures" or whatever the proper word for it is over all the greatness he's done. Tbh BMX and skateboarding are more harsh then regular sports "in my own case that is" playing football for 5 years and then riding bmx for 3 and skating for 1 gave me mental blockades I had to overcome unlike any others. It takes so much discipline to stay sane when you do the same thing 20-30 times a day and then get kicked out just to come back tomorrow to try again even after your shins, back and butt hurt from falling over and over again, but the minute you land it, it's the best feeling ever. As for most regular sports you train the same thing every year in BMX and skating there's different styles tricks you can do, you can go big stay small or be technical there's just so much more about these sports that make me hope one day they'll overcome the old sports not that their bad or anything.

im one of those people who dont see skating as a sport but as someone who did skate in high school i 100% support what robs has done to make skating a sport and try and get others to see it as a sport, i also 100% support the idea of getting it looked at as a sport so kids have something other than football, soccer, basketball, baseball, or tennis to play in school. i might have looked at skating as a sport or in a different light all together if we could have been doing that instead during gym class (not like we didn't anyway in middle and high school when we had gym outside) to know hes done so much for the skating world paints him in a more respectable light

Love the video, made me a subscriber! People don't realize that there are two sides to every form of art. Some people paint because they love it, some sell paintings to make a living. Skateboarding has always been closely related to competition. Freestyle in the 70s, X Games in the 90s, Olympics in 2021. SLS is one of the greatest things to happen for skateboarding, behind the X Games. Art and expression aren't lost in competition.

I'm going to die with this concept in my head cause I don't know how to even go about getting it started but a place called epic snowboard/skate shop needs to be created. Its a snowboard shop on one side and a skate shop on the other. Each side has their own park to test out new gear, hardware ext. The snowboard side has a indoor snow park and the skate side has the best indoor skatepark money can buy. You pay the normal price of a theme park admission giving you free rein of both sides. Each shop has setups that they can check out to anyone that wants to try something out before buying it. It would be the sickest place to go. Its a dream of mine that I dont know how to make a reality

My first board was an AWS and I would go between his and Danny Ways DC’s. I wish I still had my royal blue DC Danny Way 4’s. I definitely wish they were new and not the condition they were in.

Skateboarding is unique and beautiful because it's a sport and an art at the same time. Its accessible to poor, rich, any race...and type of person. All you need is a board and a spot.
